I hate to shop. I spent Black Friday 6 hours on the road going down to see my son and daughter-in-law returning home. Its the first we've seen them in two years since we live in Michigan and they live in Arkansas. We met in Indiana. Seeing them only made me miss them more once we left and tears have been easy to come by on and off since leaving them.

I know what you mean about hating to shop. I have to use the scooter at walmart. so i would just as soon go really late at night or very early in the mornings. I usually only go once every 2 weeks anyway. I do want to get shopping finished up.
one of our sons lived quite aways from us. every time he went back, i would get teary eyed. now he is living with us. Will you get to see them at Christmas?

Maybe but most likely not. And ... if they do come there is the constant worry about that drive over the holidays and the weather once they hit the norhern area. *sigh* My husband just is not able to tolerate that long a drive and he has even given up flying since 2006 as just too uncomfortable for his 3 surgeries back.

I've never gone out on Black Friday. I just don't see the point in getting up at 3 a.m. to save a few dollars on things you might not have even bought in the first place. It's easier to shop online to me anyway. I've gotten a lot of good presents people actually wanted from Amazon, and the rest for this season usually just involves Christmas decorations. Who would get up to buy those on Black Friday anyway?

I like sleeping in after Thanksgiving anyway :) Nothing like a tryptophan coma.
Diagnosed with Crohn's in May of 2008.
Currently taking: Prednisone, pentasa, omeprazole, and humira. Using probiotics and a multivitamin.

There are some really, really good deals out there on lower end stuff. Some of those Walmart prices on TVs and GPS systems are really nice. If you would be looking for a gift for someone, it would be a nice thing to get. Since I like the best stuff, I would not want to buy anything on BF for myself. I will admit that I ordered some Adidas pants online yesterday because they were on sale and I got free shipping.

I went out and shopped but I didn't leave the house until 9:00 AM. I didn't get the really big deals but I did save quite a bit on the clothing items I needed. If the lines are long I don't attempt to even enter that particular store. The longest I waited in line was 10 minutes so that wasn't too bad.

Shopping is rough enough at the malls by me, so I try to go on "off" days anyway. I don't go on the weekend, and don't even think of going to Walmart on the weekend...too many kids and strollers and carts flying around. I can't tell you the number of times I've been hit by a cart or stroller.

I went to a store that's usually in malls, but here is in a "mini-mall" (there's a shopping center that has Gap, Banana Republic, NY&Co, Coldwater Creek and other stores that have their own entrances, much easier than being in a mall IMO), and after seeing the line, I turned around and went back home...that was at about 3pm.

I talked to a friend who waited in line for 5 hours before a store opened and now he's at home sick with a cold...not worth it for me!

I normally stay away from Black Friday and shopping in general. However, my wife forced me to go to Kohls with her so she could buy me a new pair of jeans since apparently in her eyes I looked like one of those little "gangsta" kids since my jeans don't fit after loosing more weight recently and it took us nearly 2 hours for one pair of pants. It was crazy! God bless my wife for keeping me presentable, but I just about went crazy in that place!

Nah, I didn't go (but secretly would have like too). I was too much in the vacation mode and was a lazy girl at home. Navy I like your brother, he bought you that new TV. Did he set it up for you? Glad to hear you got out a little.

I was working!!!!! Beautiful weather to be working in though.
I use FD&C Blue dye number 1 and it really seems to help me.  There is SCIENCE behind this.  Just ask me and I will explain it to you.  U/C and Crohn's for 34 years.  Blue dye for one month and I am feeling pretty good!  I am so excited by this but I need others to try it with their doctor's permission.  Simple food coloring!!  BLUE1.
I can't make money on this, it's already in your kitchen.  I just want to help.
I do 2 drops in 6 ounces of water when I get up, 2 or 3 drops in 16 or 20 ounces of water that I sip all day and then 2 drops in 6 ounces of water at bedtime.   Max of 7 drops a day.  Give it about ten days.  I am NOT a healthcare professional.   Ask your doctor if this is safe for you.

I would love to go to after Christmas sales, but it is too hard to manuever a wheel chair around in big crowds.Mainly what i would get would be discounted decorations.
ya'll take care. Julie

Camped out at Best Buy on Wednesday, was home in bed on Friday by 5:45. Got my new laptop plus other goodies and saved about $800.00. We do it every year and have a great time with the other families. Yes, we are crazy but it's the only way I could afford a new laptop for my son this year.
