Sorry if this is too personal a question- of course you don't have to answer it. I'm just wondering what is normal- however I know "normal" is different for everyone.

If you find you are starting to have more BMs than your usual- even if they are still firm and no D, do you think that means you are in a flare?

I would say my average is 3 to 4, but sometimes if I eat a lot of fiber, it could be 5 or 6. That's probably a little too many? I can't even remember what it used to be like before I got sick.

Back before CD I averaged 1 per day, 2 if I ate a lot. Or if I didn't eat much or was hiking/camping I could go 2 days per BM. Boy, those were the days!

once a day here. and if ate a lot, 2 times. Just like GDen. now i know i am flaring when i am at 5 or 6 or more, although might not be the big "D". My GI told me that loose stools are alsooconsidered "D". I usual have these over the "D". Except this past monday when I went 14 times . it ranged from loose to "D'" to hard small pea sized balls. ANd I am on remicade!!! ugh.

I am in remission and I would say 1-3 times a day, it depends on if I was a good girl with my diet or not. Most days its 1-2 at most.

I'm working towards some sort of remission and currently going about 8 times a day.

Pre-colitis, I would go maybe 2.

I am on infliximab. A good day is 4/5 soft bowel movements. A bad day is mayb 6/7 very sticky bowel movements. When I was in full flare it would be 10/12 per day. If I have had the odd day with less than 3, then I would consider this a special day
Diagnosed 2005.  41 year old female living in UK

Current medication  -  infliximab infusions, ranitidine, Vitamin B12 injections, anti depressants

It all depends on what I eat the day before.

On average. I go right when I wake up, several times, maybe 5 times total, while up, getting a shower, shaving, etc. Then I am good to go, until I eat something, and I will need to go again, usually before I get through that meal. Most of the time after that last trip, I am good to go for the rest of the day, maybe going once more when I eat again later, and maybe not.

Keep in mind that I have had a few surgeries too, and I don't have a full colon, so I am just going to need to go more.

It fluctuates between 1-6 times a day. When it gets to the higher end then I know I need to get things under control before they get any worse. The best days generally average out at 3 though.
Diagnosed with Crohn's in May of 2008.
Currently taking: Prednisone, pentasa, omeprazole, and humira. Using probiotics and a multivitamin.

Good days I have 2-4!

off topic: I just found out that in the course I took a final exam for today, if you don't pass the exam you don't pass the course. No matter how high your marks were on everything else. I don't think I passed the exam, but I never got less than 75% on anything else... Worrying about this is giving me a really bad stomach ache already :(

2 - 4 is typical when I am not flaring. 4 - 6 is a bad day. Over 6 is a flare.

Here's something I can't figure out, and it happens from time to time whether I am flaring or not. I will wake up and have a nice firm BM (either right when I wake up or an hour or so after being up) and I think its going to be a good day. Then, anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes later I have terrible D. Maybe two or three times within the next hour or two. I can't seem to link this to diet, this has happened mornings when I haven't even had anything to eat. Strange.

1-2 right now, which is good. I'm not in remission though, just not in a full-blown flare. I have quite a bit of pain still and nausea, but my BMs are pretty normal. Before I got sick though, I seriously only went like once or twice a week though, lol. Oh how I miss those days!

I'm about 3-6bm's a day.
Over 6, I increase my Meds, when I get home from work.
I think the extra Entocort and Pentasa really slows my bowels down.

Remicade,vitamin-D,Fluconazole.More over the counter vitamin-D. Remission since surgery and 5-years, of 8-week Remicade.
