Does anyone experience hair loss while taking Imuran? I noticed my hair thining after pred...but it seemed to fill back in. That was a year ago. I take folic acid, and thyroid meds. I get everything tested and all the numbers for thyroid seemed o.k. But, latley everytime I wash it I'm afraid to run my fingers through my hair because it is just coming out in clumps like crazy.  My brushes are full of hair, my floor in my bathroom in full of hair...my clothes. Does this mean I could be in a flare and not know it? Any suggestions? Thanks!

I'm on 6MP which is what Imuran is metabolized to. I have not experienced hair loss, but as it is a chemotherapy drug many people have experienced some hair loss. However, I believe that after being on the drug for a longer period your body will tend to regrow what was lost.

That is a common trait of many of our Crohns meds. I recommend adding additional folic acid and Biotin to help. Good luck!
