I have perianal fistulas and am wondering what meds others might be using. I am on Imuran, Cipro and Flagyl. Used Remicade a decade ago in trials, successfully; but developed antibodies last summer when needed a second time. I have had significant fistulotomies in the past year without much success and am interested to hear what other meds might be helpful.

  • Participation in Remicade trials (fistulae) late 90's.

  • Presently on Imuran, Cipro, Flagyl
  • Remicade (2nd attempt - after 10 yrs - failed).

your story sounds pretty familiar:( I was on Imuran and Cipro (allergic to Flagyl & Remicade) for many years and they worked great for many of wasn't until 2007 that things went south quickly. During that time I also had a ileostomy so I 'just' made it permanent and that took care of them!

Do your docs suggest trying Humira? I think our bodies are so individual it's hard to say what will work so you may have to try everything to find the right one for you...another :(

I hope you find relief!
