After almost 9 years of misdiagnosis, I had fiiiiiiiinally found a doctor that I liked and that listened to me.  I've been seeing her since August, even though she is a 2 hour drive away, but she's with a specialty hospital.  All the local GI doctors here are....not great.  One told me to not drink milk, and the other has maintained I have only IBS for years, even though labs/etc say otherwise.

I called to reschedule my next appointment with my doctor....only to find out she's LEAVING.  I'm in the midst of steroid treatment, have no idea what I'm supposed to be doing next, and have no clue where I go now.  The nurse has assured me that the doctor will call me before she leaves to get me straightened out med-wise.  She actually DID try to call me this morning, but I was busy wrestling with my toddler at diaper-time and missed the call.  :(

*is in a tizzy over this whole thing*  I hate not knowing what I'm supposed to be doing, and I REALLY hate having to start all over with another doctor.

Anyone have a good GI rec for North Florida?  :P

If she's saying near-by, it's probably worth looking into switching over. My GI left for a different system a year or so ago and I wanted to follow him but my insurance wouldn't cover more than 50% if I did.

I'm not sure where she's moving to yet. I was so thrown when the office said she was leaving that I forgot to ask, but I'll definitely find out when I talk to her or the nurse.

Just so frustrating. :(

Sorry to hear. I'd be in a tizzy also if I found out mine was moving. Good luck!
