Did you say 8 feet? You must have SBS then.
Maybe you should see a different GI doctor. I may be wrong but I thought that Remicade and Humira would heal Fistulas?

Yes I have heard the same from Wolfie that Remicade is used to heal Fistulas. Has your doc tried that for you yet? Good luck!

You HAVE to be one tough cookie, Becellea, to manage two jobs as a single mom of 3 kids!!!! My hats off to you. That's a tough enough job when in good health!!!

It sounds like its time to check into assistance in getting Remicade infusions. You need to get off that prednisone if at all possible as well. My hopes and prayers are w/you that you are able to do so quickly and that Remicade works miracles for you!!! Good luck and God bless!

Bec, if I remember rightly, you're in a rural / regional community, aren't you?

Have you ever been referred to the city to see one of the big expert doctors there?

Bec, do you see a doctor at one of the major teaching hospitals, or are you seeing a gastro out in the suburbs?

I ask because only a select few gastros have the authority to prescribe Remicade / Infliximab, and most of them are based at the major teaching hospitals. It sounds to me as if you could benefit from having a re-examination of your medication regime - your Imuran dose sounds pretty low to me, and I also think you might benefit from Infliximab - and that maybe you will need a second opinion to get into a better condition, healthwise.

Apart from the fissure, what are your other gut symptoms at the moment? Are you still running to the toilet a lot, and in a lot of pain?
