Hi all, was wondering if anyone on Remecade has had the medicine to stop working before end of 8 week period. My last treatment did not seem to help but very little. Kept getting flare ups. This treatment was perfect for 4 weeks as of yesterday. I think I ate something that has thru me into a bad flare up. Been on commode since 4:00 this morning.  No diarehea yet, just really bad gas and cramping something awful. I think it might have been candied yams. I would appreciate comments on Remecade and Humira. And if anyone has had a problem with sweet potatoes or yams. Was wondering if Humira was a good choice and if it worked without side effects. I have the hives from Remecade, they give me benadryl in my I.V. before and during my infusions. Will be a year in March. Would love info and input on both. Thanks, Angel

I never made it to the 8 week mark while on Remicade. My infusions were every 4 weeks, this is what worked best for me. It needs to be tailored to the person's needs. They did find out Remicade does not stay in the body as long as they thought it did. I did this for 3 1/2 yrs and my ins never said a word.

crohns disease dx 2002 & small bowel resection, still looking for remission whatever that is, chronic pain 22 yrs, added ulcerative colitis 6-05 to the mix, high blood pressure 28 yrs, aortic heart valve insuffiency, depression, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis lumbar spine, scoliosis lumbar spine, peripheral neuropathy hands & feet, COPD & on oxygen therapy, lupus & psoriasis and psoratic arthritis. Several other health issues just not enough room to list it all. Too many surgeries to list and too many medications to list. Currently on 17 different daily medications. Intrathecal pain pump implanted June 05.
