hi all,
sorry that i'm a few days late with this thread!! after seeing in the new year on the toilet (probably a sign of what is to come this year!) i decided to do everything in my power to beat this and regain some control!!  i having changing lots of things such as cutting out certain foods, but i know i could do alot more.  for example, iv been using the joint pain i suffer from as an excuse to avoid exercise.  but with my new years resolution, i've decided that ill stop finding excuses and ill do exercise little and often and hopefully it'll help me physically and psychologically, as i find exercise to be great for stress!!
anyone else have any resolutions they'd like to share?!

I decided not to make any this year because I made several for 08 and 09, and those have been probably the most painful years of my life. I think I'll just go with the flow this time, and see what happens :) No expectations!
Diagnosed with Crohn's in May of 2008.
Currently taking for Crohn's: Pentasa, omeprazole, Loestrin birth control, and Align probiotics.
Also taking Elmiron and RE Methylphen for Interstitial Cystitis.
I do keep a blog of my experiences and mishaps with these diseases. See profile :)

I'm going to make a huge effort to cut back on shopping (fun shopping that is, clothes, purses, shoes, jewelery, ect). I hate grocery shopping but looks like I'm aiming to do only that and cut way back on my fun shopping...I hope I can stick to it, a few times during the year I make myself feel guilty for it cuz I can shop like it's xmas or something just about every day of the year, so I really need to cut it down...I need help LOL!

bee propolis caps 500mg one cap twice/day
omegas 369 caps one cap twice/day
probiotics 10 billion cfu once/day
vitamins C-calcium ascorbate (easy on the gut) and vitamin A each once/day
Prodiem fibre supplement one cap before bed
I've also altered my diet (no junky stuff at all, processed, fast-foods, refined sugars, ect) and exercise regularly.
I went from 30+ bloody BM's/day with lots of lower back pain to an average of 5/day no bleeding no back pain and completely formed stools, still have severe urgency issues.
~~~~~~~~My bum is broken....there's a big crack down the middle of it! LOL :)~~~~~~~~
This sounds so simple but is so hard for me, take naps and go to bed earlier than I used to.
Stick with SCD for at least a month, and if it helps, then continue!
I don't usually set them, but this year I set one that I think is quite achievable. It's not a typical one, but it's something I want to do.
My New Years resolution is to get drunk on a beach.
Years ago I used to have these really fun nights with friends; We'd have a bonfire on the beach and drink and have fun. But due to the lack of open bathrooms at night on the beach I've been unable to do it for years. So I'm hoping that after I recover from my surgery (getting a bag) I can go to the beach with some friends and stay there till the sun comes up.
I guess it will be kind of like a milestone in my healing process. I can't wait!
Male, 22, diagnosed with Crohn's at 13.
Medication: Salofalk, Infliximab infusions, Humira injections.
On and off Prednisone for years.
I pop Loperamide (aka Gastro-Stop) like candy!
Have had one, two, three, four colonoscopies.
Getting a (permanent) bag in February!
To really look after myself - remission is so precious I'm going to do all I can to keep it!
And to just live all I can while I can, if the worst was to ever happen and I was to get ill again and my medication failed then I want to have no regrets and know I lived all I could while I could!
Howlyncat...you can have some of the weight I want to lose.
I don't usually make resolutions..your just setting yourself up to fail.  I take every day as they come and if I can better myself that day..then I do.
