I have been reading on this forum and I am suprized and relieved to see the support that is given to all and by all. I would like to say Hi to everyone. I was dx with crohn's in 10/2008 and I still have many questions... The first is about entocort and knee pain and mid back pain, Dr says no relation ship but the knee and back pain only started a few day days after starting it. the back pain seems to have gone but the knee pain creeps up out of nowhere. Has anyone heard of this? I have also been on pentassa for about 4 months, it only seems to minimize the symptoms. The only other change to meds, diet or life style was that I started on inj. B. Thank you in advance for any advice or help that anyone can offer.

Hi Jesse (seems like we're the only 2 here right now?)
I am totally new to this whole chat thing (56 yrs. old and not very computer savvy).
I have a son who is 26 yrs old that was diagnosed with Crohn's at the age of 8. Has had 2 resections and an ileostomy for 1.5 years. Has had a lot of problems since the ileostomy mainly with dehydration. He is currently in the hospital with possible gall stones and had his picc line infected. Now has a Central Line in. Never seems to get a break but has a great attitude.
I know my son, Jason, has had a lot of joint pain (back and knees included) but I believe that was due to his prednisone he took for so many years. Wish I knew
about entocort. Bet somebody will offer advice on this.
My hopes are finding out how a reversal of ileostomy have helped or hindered someone that has had it done. We are hoping my son can have this procedure in the near future.

I actually had joint and back pain while on pentasa that has minimized since I have been off of it. I was previously on entocort with no joint or back pain, and I'm currently on prednisone and imuran with significantly less pain than I experienced on pentasa.

aickandlucky: I will have to look into the pentasa being the cause, thanks.

Before I was diagnosed with crohn's I had the worst joint pains, especially the whole hands and wrists and both knees. Was told by my gastro-enterologist what I had was Crohn's arthritis which some patients get but not all. Prednisone helped control the pain some. When I went on Remicade it went away for the first 6 weeks. I get Remicade every 8 weeks, so it comes back for the last 2 weeks. Concerned Mom for Son, if I may! This is a forum or message board not a chat room. There's a link to chat rooms near the top of this screen in small type if you want to try but not many people do. In a forum people will be online at various times of the day, from all around the world. Jessies girl started this message and you and sick and lucky all posted comments around the same time but you'll notice I'm posting over 4 hours after you. Some posts can go on for days or weeks. when your interested in a post add your comment if you want but rember the topic(subject) heading so you can follw what's happened the next time your on. Example this topic is "Hi! New here and I already feel welcome" Good for you trying to help your son with compuers. They can be intimidating but stick with it you'll learn. I hope I helped! Lastly if you go down further on the lists of diseases and conditions page ( where you found Crohn's Disease listed) you'll find another forum on ostomies which I'll bet is what you need. Good luck and don't give up this web site is excellent for learning many things and getting different peoples many experiences. Regards Grandpa to 2.

Welcome to both of you! You've found a great forum to help figure things out:)

Concerned Mom: I just wanted to mention that Healing Well has an Ostomies Forum (you can go to Quick Jump and click on it) that might be able to answer some of your reversal questions...many of us there have Crohn's, too.
