Hi Im finally joining the message board since I seem to be out of resources and it seems that nobody understands what im going through. One thing that I can say for sure this disease is extremely frustrating. I guess it all started when i was 17. I got my first hemmi at 19 and pretty much just dealt with spending most of my day in the bathroom. I would eat well breakfast lunch dinner never big on snacking never gaining a pound. Ive had 2 children and luckily have the best man in the world cause i dont know how any one can work with this condition. I finally got tired of being stuck in the bathroom and went to the doctor at  , oh there were many er visits before then for extreme pain under the belly button but no diagnoses. The doctor ran a bunch of tests and I had a colonoscopy after that I was told i had IBS. I had read all the symptoms of ibs and knew that was not what I had. My bathroom visits had grown to be so frequent and the pain so much more consistant and really bad. so i began eating less and my bathroom visits were not as frequent but the pain was still there. I noticed that taking vikodin seem to help a great deal. I would take a few here and a few there but never consistantly. Since I wanted to get out of the house and go to school I started taking percocet 10mg and I could eat what ever I wanted when I wanted with no probs no pain. A year later the pain was back I had built a tlerance and they where not working, and the pain was getting worse. I quit taking them and went to the message boards and started taking a 1 a day and omega and so far so good also drinking lots of water and trying to maintain my stress. I then decided I wanted to be a member and check back often for fear that this will not last long. I also had my appendics removed at 23 and it had gain green. Im now 36 and at the end of my rope with this.

So have you been diagnosed with Crohns Disease? Are you taking any Crohns meds? If not, and you are diagnosed with this disease then its definetly going to come back unless you are properly treating your disease. Many of us use pain meds, but not to control our disease, just to help us with our pain, which in most cases is the joint pain. Yes we do use pain meds for our Crohns too, but usually when we are flaring. I welcome you to HW, maybe you can explain your story a little more and tell us about what you have done to treat your Crohns and what meds you have used.

Hugs

I have not been back to the doctor since i was missed diagnosed with ibs I have medical and felt that I was not being taken seriously by my doc after several remarks that were made and my dad saying give me his number I quit going but now do to my pain I am going to find a new doctor and start all over I was diagnosed with rhumetoid arthritis at age 27 but luckily do not have many flare ups it is just the pain very bad pain I get after eating and going to the bathroom. I also was tested for food allergies and am allergic to corn and soy and all its byproducts raw fruits and veggies. I understand others take pain meds and they work for them the way they take them and thats great, I was just giving a quick run down in my intro thanks for responding Im hoping to learn alot here and hope to get the help i need.

Then make sure you see a Gastroenterologist, they are the best at diagnosing Crohns. With you having RA some of the meds they use for that can be used to help with Crohns too. Good luck and keep us posted. Hugs!
