Does anyone have any experience with Crohn's Psoriasis? The bottoms of my feet have been abnormally dry forever. There are deep cracks which have since healed. And my toenails, well let's not go there! I thought maybe it was athlete's foot as I used to play soccer quite a bit. But my wife saw a pic of a crohnies nasty foot and it looks like mine. Any info on this? Treatments or anything? Is this a Gastro thing? Or will I need another Dr.?

I had psoriasis on my hands very bad (cracked, bleeding, pus, itchy) more than 20 years ago, long before being diagnosed with Crohn's. Was referred to a dermatologist who did an agressive form of treatment and it has never been as bad since. I do get a prescription for a topical cream (betaderm) which I use sparingly once in awhile if something bothers my hands. I am careful of what soaps, laundry detergent, lotions etc. that I use.

I think some people on this forum have said they have gotten psoriasis from certain medications and other medications for Crohn's helps with psoriasis?

My GI filled my prescription last time as it always expires before I need refills.

Ironically, while on Prednisone my skin is fabulous. It is used to treat psoriasis sometimes, I think. My nails cleared up, and I was able to get a pedicure and manicure. I think that both diseases are auto-immune so could be linked in that way. Now that I am off the Prednisone, my psoriasis is back with a vengeance. I was referred to a dermatologist, and he gave me an ointment. It is OK for my elbows etc., but I can't work out how to do it all over my feet. In the morning it would just spread everywhere in my socks, and at night it would get all over my husband!! I think that it is best to get a referral to a dermatologist. It is not really a GI or family doctor thing.
