Hi, ive been told i have chrons by my gp, which makes sense when i read the symptoms etc. one thing that bothers me is people talk of extreme abdomen pain which i dont have, i was hospitalised 2 years with colitis which went away with antibiotics is that the kind of pain that can be associated with chrons? is it possible to have chrons without having pain? or have i possibley not got chrons?

thanks, dave

It's a very individual disease, everyone has their own symptoms and it can differ greatly from one person to the next... So I'd say it is possible you have crohns. Have you had a colonoscopy to diagnose? Hope you're feeling better and continue to avoid the pain!

no not as yet, thats the next step, but for 4 weeks ive had everything to do with chrons, the loss of blood is a factor for me myself as its made me anemic and i have a heart condition which has become worse probably due to loss of oxygen traveling through my blood around body etc. but i am ready to deal with anythin its just the not knowing part that frustrates me, once im clearly diagnosed ill get on with it, the english NHS is good, but very slow!

thanks

Hi Dave. Welcome to HW. Im new here too. I had Crohns symptoms for 5 years before it was eventually diagnosed. Has your GP referred you to a specialist? I believe there is about a month waiting list depending on where in the uk you are. You are right there is certainly no rushing the NHS. The best thing you can do is have a Colonoscopy and that will tell you if you have Crohns. Again I think there is about a 3 week waiting list for a Colonoscopy.

Hope all goes well for you!

Cheers mate, 5 years! unlucky mate the NHS can be a bit slow i agree, my old man had diabeates for years and they just insisted it was an ulcer, they take a while but they get there in the end! Yeah my GP is setting up a colonoscapy, he said it would be quick but i dont know there definition of quick (maybe 3 weeks) but the anemia and stuff is prioritised for me i think cause like i say losing blood when my heart is a bit dodgy is not good! good to have this place for the little questions! cheers people.

Either I have an extreamly high pain tolerance or I have little pain in general. I do however have some pain and cramping while having a BM. other then that I just have mild to moderate discomfort....bloted feeling, rumblings from the guts and gas bubbles.

My guess is that just as everyones food triggers are different so are some of the symptoms.

Hope you get the services that you need.
