I just had my third infusion of Remicade the week before Xmas and I don't feel like it has helped at all.  I feel like I did before the Remicade started.  I am thinking that already, the Remicade isn't working on me.  This is one of my problems is that no drugs seem to work for me.  I have a bad reaction to most drugs.

Here is my question.  I see my GI tomorrow.  If he takes me off the Remicade I know he is going to want to try Humira.  I am actually very nervous about Humira because of the shooting myself and the darn sting it gives.  I was wondering would Cimzia be better to try then Humira.  I don't mind the IV's as I do that now with Remicade.  Has anyone taken both Cimzia and Humira and which would you recommend.  I may also ask about LDN but I don't know if my doc will know enough about it.

I am just feeling anxious about this visit as I am getting really frustrated with no drugs working on me.  I have thought about clinical trials but that is a short term not long term solution.

Well I have heard from others who use Remicade that it can take more than 3 infusions before it really takes affect. My personal opinion is that you should give it a little more time to see if it will really work for you before switching meds again.

Good luck!

Hey JavaJay, I agree with Nanners, give the remicade a little more time. I also just had my 3rd infusion last week and was feeling great for awhile, now I'm having a little side pain, but I expect it to keep getting better. I tried Humira and it didn't really work for me but the shots weren't so bad. Talk it over with your GI and see what he/she thinks. Hang in there!

*hugs*

Tried Remicade 2 yrs ago for about a year and a half and loved it, got off it due to costs, tried Humira and it just didn't work for me so now back on Remicade.

My problem here is that after both the first and second infusion, I felt like a whole new person.  Going to bathroom only 3 times a day.  I had energy.  No bleeding. No urgency.  After the 3rd infusion however, I was back to pre-Remicade.  I am going about 6-8 times a day with some major urgency.  I developed a hemmie, I am bleeding again, and I have less energy.  I also am breaking out with pimples on my face again which also had stopped.  All signs show that I am flaring again and it feels like the Remicade did nothing for me.
