I have a few questions........

Does anyone get fevers w/ their crohns? I seem to get these random episodes where I get a fever of about 100-101 for 24hrs....where I am forced to get into bed and take tylenol every 4 hrs. It never lasts more than 24hrs and starts as quick as it stops. it usually happens when I am exhausted, stressed etc ( i have 2 babies) so I am always exhausted, naturally.

There is no telling when it will happen is just does....it's very weird. I know it's not a bug or flu as I have no other symptoms at all and I woud say on average it happens 3-6 times a year....and has been going on for at least 6-8 yrs. I am starting a journal now so I can keep real track.

I am currently in a minor flare up with stomach pain and arthritis in my ankle. I am taking 200mg of imuran and asacol. I just started the imuran about 4 mth ago....I went off it when I was preggo and then back on it when my baby was about 5 mths old. Labs look fine...been doing them every couple weeks since starting the meds.

My doc says he doesn't really see a lot of "sporadic" fevers like I am describing and def doesn't think it has to do w/ the meds cuz then he said I would have a fever everyday type thing. He said more than likely it is a symptom of CD but most of his patients will have days of fever while a flare up is going on and then it will go away as the flare does.

It happened to me over thxgiving weekend and then again yesterday....so that's pretty close together. It knocks me out!!!!

Anyone else???????

I get them frequently- gone months on end with low grade temps affecting my days. My doc says it's the inflammation. Like you, they tend to be worse when I over do it that day. I'm a single mom who works too. It can be overwhleming-so much to do that can't be ignored because 'i don't feel well'... When I feel the temp come on I do try my best to rest for the day or at least a while. Make sure you stay hydrated too. They'll zap you over time!

I have gotten sporadic fevers in the past, as high as 103+ with chills, night sweats...the works. For me, they tended to happen shortly before or during "that" time of the month, when I was stressed or had recently been traveling and my diet was weird. Generally lasted between 1 and 3 days and could be controlled with Tylenol. Sometimes it would be accompanied by stomach pain, and sometimes not.
