Hello all,

I am recovering from having my gall bladder removed and am curious how many folks have had gall bladder problems.  I had bad pain over the Christmas Holiday (of course) and ended up having gall stones.  The surgery was easy (compared to abscess surgery!!) and I am recovering nicely.  Leave it to me to find yet another way to ruin a holiday!!

I've read CDer's are more prone to having gall bladder problems, so I am curious if this is common for folks on the Forum.

Take care.

Diagnosed with Crohn's in early 2007.  Several peri-rectal abscesses and two fistulae with setons.  Allergic to Remicade and Humira.  Currently on 6MP, and vitamins D and B-12.

Yes I know there are alot of members who have had to have their GB's out. I had to have mine out not because of stones, but because I had a filmy like substance separating my GB into two sections and it was giving me grief. Glad to hear you are recovering well. Hugs!

Thanks Gail! I was so worried it was an advancement of CD -- like a stricture or something. My CD is limited to the rectum now and I really would rather it stay contained! I was actually thankful it was something other than CD!

What is so strange about this disease is that almost everyone in my family (Dad, 4 sisters, several aunts) have had to have the gallbladder removed except me. And I'm the one with Crohn's.
