I just thought I would share something that I found helpful when I was doing my last bowel prep. We decided to make jello jigglers instead of regular jello and it was great! I think the fact that they are really thick and you have to chew them helps because I didn't feel hungry and deprived once :D Hope everyone is having a good week so far :)

Gelatin is a good protein, so the extra gelatin in the jigglers definitely helps with the hunger.

That's a really good idea! Just wish I ate Jello lol (yet another reason why it's not always easy being a vegetarian with Crohn's)

Ooooo good idea. I need to remember this as I am sure I am due for another scope. Maybe I'll even cut them out with the cookie cutters for entertaining shapes to take my mind off the hunger :-) Do they make a doctor cookie cutter???? Take that scope guy!

Nanners: Gelatin is made from animal collagen. Pectin (plant-based) is usually a suitable replacement, but it's not as common.

Eating jigglers sounds more fun than eating jello. Gotta eat the jigglers!

I feel a whole lot more the way I do now than I did a little while ago.

Yeah, gelatin is an animal product. Vegans don't eat anything that comes from animals, so gelatin is included. Most vegetarians aren't that strict though. I love jigglers, you suddenly gave me a craving to make some haha.

I have a double scoping coming up in two weeks. I have NEVER heard of jigglers. I will try to remember to use them.

I ate jello on my last prep and never want jello again. Just the thought of eating jello and drinking prep makes me want to puke....
500 mg of Pentasa 4 times a day, 1 Florastor 2 times a day, 2 mg LDN at bed time, 1400 IU Vitamin D3

Prior medication until LDN:100 mg Imuran a day - GI wanted 150 mg, but I didn't want to destroy my liver, 1 Gram of Pentasa 4 times a day, 3 mg of Entocort 3 times a day, Librax as needed

haha yeah it will be awhile before I eat jello again but it did the trick. One pan of jigglers was more than enough to keep me feeling full. Hopefully I won't have anymore scopes for awhile so I can hold off on the jello action :P I lucked out though because I didn't have to drink the gallon stuff this time (that stuff made me puke). I just drank Miralax (sp) and took the little pills with it. I don't think it cleaned me out as well but it was considerably less miserable.

Sarah,

I'm the same way with Gatorade. At least the clear kind I had.

crohnieman, i feel ya... after 14 surgeries and uncounted hospitalizations, if i never saw jello again or heard its foul name spoken i could die a happy man  and as for prep, i USED to like 7-up and sprite... cant even think about lemon lime anything without gagging. luckily i no longer have to do prep ;0)...

Good idea...I'll have to make some when I have my colonoscopy in May!

The other thing that's good is gummy bears!!! I've eaten them every time I'm put on clear liquids and when doing preps. I'm just careful which colors I eat!

The last few scopes I've sipped chicken broth made from bouillon cubes. its like having ramen noodles without the noodles.

Probably not a good idea for scopes, but still an awesome Jello treat: Jello shots!
