Octobergirl, do you live a parallel life to mine? :)
I have the same problem - I was on and off for November (could deal with it, chalked it up to stress) but had to take antibiotics and in the middle of December had a flare where I was out of work for 2 weeks. My dr put me on Flagyl, Cipro and Prednisone (40 mg and yes, I was the one whoe swore I would never take it again :)
So I was coming along nicely, resting at home, not eating a lot, Christmas came and I was fine eating (still not drinking alcohol b/c of the Flagyl) then New Years I went out and had champagne and a grand old time and the in the beginning of January I started again with the D with b and m and lots of, er, wind. I have gone out twice since then with my friends and had a few drinks and overindulged a bit with the eating but get back on track the next day with a mainly vegan diet. I have been doing yoga and meditating and exercising and the past few days but I am feeling like I am getting worse. I had my Remicade 3 1/2 weeks ago AND am on Prednisone - how much more can a girl take? I was on 40 mg to start then started to taper until I got down to 15 mg - I started back up to 30 to see if I can get this flare to back away.
Here is my problem - I have big plans this weekend with a new boy and am not going to be around any of my familiar surroundings. IFor the next 24 hours i am not eating anything except miso soup and maybe a banana to see if I can give my insides a rest and let the Pred take over.
What do I do? Cancel my weekend? Again? Or do I go and just eat and drink a little and say I have stomach problems and don't want to be in the car for too long? Ugh.
