Would not recommend it to anyone with
open sores though!
This came about
because I was trying a natural alternative to what I believe to be a yeast infection in my dog's skin! That's right ...you heard me. The dog has had serious dermatitist/inflammation issues for some time now that I haven't been able to pin down. All of a sudden he develops a yeast infection in his eye which the vet is treating.
I got to thinking...well if his eye is itching because of yeast...couldn't his skin be full of yeast as well. I switched him over to grain (gluten) free food, added 2 tbls. of apple cider vinegar to his water bowl and began to bath him in a solution of 50% water & 50% apple cider vinegar every other day. WOW! What a difference! He came off ALL steriods and antihistamines.
So......I began adding 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar to my bath water every day. Immediate itch relief.....FINALLY!
Within a couple of days...no more scaly skin...only softness. After my baths I towel off and apply a homemade mixture of lotion. I also make my own soap, however, it was the vinegar that did the ultimate trick. And to think...my husband says I don't even smell like a pickle either! Hope this helps somebody! Sure beats the heck out of a $40.00 bottle of Salytic Acid lotion the derm prescribes 24/7, 365!
