Hey my name is artist guy, I've had crohn's since 1970. I was a horse jockey for 18 years and rode successfully with my disease. I've had 3 resection surgeries. last 1989 now Iam really suffering and was eating very healthy (lots of papya) but I now it seems like have what is called burning mouth syndrome, my dr's don't know if it is part of crohn's. very very painful in my mouth and tongue(blistered) mygi put me on entocort worked good for my stomach but my mouth flares like crazy. 6 days ago was my first pred to reduce inflammation in my mouth worked great until I stopped. you know the steps 3-3-2-2-1-1-1. then 2 days later WOW after pred got out of my system my mouth blistered. does takinhg pred and entocort together help? I'm back on pred but my reg. dr.  gave me 1 aday(not enough) tonight I took 2 pred's, finally relief but I want to know if anybody takes both pred and entocort I hope someone can help me.

Hello Artist guy, I get the burning mouth problem. I find that pred makes it better at first, but eventually makes it worse.
The only thing I've found to work is a mouth rinse, given to me by an ENT doc. It's called Dr. poppavichs (sp) medicine.
It contains 4 or 5 ingredients that helps. I can't remember all, but some of them are anti fungal, anti biotics, steroids, and
so on. You take a mouthful rinse and then swallow. It does take a little time to work, but it does work.
I know your pain and sympathize with you.

BTW, this med maybe hard to find, but it's well worth it. It is a prescription med. Good luck.

hey everyone I'm newbie but have had crohns since1970. at the time I was a horse jockey, I'll skip a little bit . but one day after I rode a race I was walking bak to jockey's room and everything looked like I was underwater when you open your eye's i got dr. at the track and had 106 temp. sent me home immediately, obstuction 3 days later followed by surgery. 1 year later after 2 more surgeries and removing 9ft of small intestine. I was riding in 12 weeks rode for 16 more years minus 4 years of broken bones and 1 more resection in 1989. injured out with broken neck. but now I'm artist, design willow furniture and build. also for insurrance I'm a table games dealer at large san diego casino. so just an encouraging chat to let people know we can live somewhat normal lives if control. family support and love is some of best medicine. by the way I won over 1,000 races so exercise is really a key I mountain bike semi-professional when all things are good

*Artist guy* I am adding this post to the one I created for you. Please try to keep your subjects in the same post* Thanks for your understanding.
