Everyone is different. We all have our favorite brands. I tried about 4 and all made things much worse. I basically gave up on probiotics for years. Finally my doctor convinced me to try a different one. It worked for me. I use Align, others use VSL, and still others use different ones. Basically most of our profiles have what we take(except I don't list that, hum, update time). But you need to remember that you get what you pay for. You don't have to go super expensive, but bottom of the barrel is probably not really worth your time. Also give any new brand at least a month before you evaluate.

Managing with strict low residue diet, keeping symptoms to a minimum. All test show small amount of ulceration, still have occasional blockages. But still have a great time with my 2 daughters and husband!

I use this one: www.floraq.com/. Specifically Flora-Q2. It's about $50 for 30. It's expensive but I seem to slide downhill if I don't take it, so I take one every night before bed.

I have also tried Align ($29 for 28) and i-Flora ($28 for 60), but have not had noticeable improvement with either of those.

Good luck finding one that works for you.
CD since July 2007 - prenatal vitamins + extra vit. D, vit. C and iron, fish/flax oil, probiotics

Following excellent Omega-3 diet as per James Scala's 'The New Eating Right for the Bad Gut' - got me out of a flare.

the only reason I haven't tried any is I've had 9ft of small int. removed, so my absorbtion rate is poor at best, not sure I want to spend somuch $ when it goes right thru, that's why papaya's were so good for me because of the natural digestion process. I went on that floraq site. I need to try I've spent worse money on a crappy dinner

                                                thanks

There is one called PB8 that is pretty good for about half what the others are. At one point, one of my GI's suggested that I might double up on my probiotics, but since they are so expensive, he suggested the PB8 as a good choice. I have tried it and it seems to work pretty well. My body seems to adjust to the Align and I have to change probiotics every 5 - 6 months, so then I go to the PB8 for a bit and back to the Align after a month or so.

I take Primadolphilus Reuteri by Natures Way. I think you live in the Southern Calif area right? If so you can get them at Henry's Market for $8-9 for 30 day supply and you only use one a day. You will find them in the refrigerated section. I am very sensitive to supplements too, so these work well for me. Hope that helps.

My daughters integrative medicine doc has her on Florastor. He says it has clinical research that shows it works synergistically with Pentasa. We shall see!
