Rewood's wife here again.  He is in bad pain or just pain all the time for the last 2 1/2 years.  Started out with thinking he had UC then 7 surgeries later they say he MIGHT have crohns and sometimes say's he has crohns.  We are going to the Doctor soon to discuss removing or taking down his J pouch and going to the bag to see if it takes the pain away.  The Doctor can't promise if it will help or not.  Redwood doesn't want to go through another surgery if it doesn't help.  Has anyone been through this?  Have you had a  J pouch and went back to the bag?  Did it help?  he is depressed and me too cause I can't do anything.  It is so hard to watch him hurt all the time.  it has effected his eye sight, his muscles hurt, so tired, in the bathroom 12  to 20 times a day.  He diets well.  I don't know what to do.  Should he try going back to the bag?    We have tried all the meds.  Doctor say's they don't know what to try except the bag.  But no promises about taking the pain away.  Anyone out there like this?

Aww I am so sorry to hear your hubby is suffering so. We have an ostomies forum, you might want to pop over there and ask their opinions on this. Good luck and I will definetly keep you both in my prayers.

Hello Redwood,

Please tell your hisband we are praying for relief for him!

I am wondering if you have consulted with a different doctor? These decisions are so big that it is often helpful to get a second (or third) opinion. It may help clarify his options and make the decision easier.

Take care.
