ok, clue #1- passing gas thru your vagina! Awful, yet true... this was the first real "symptom" I experienced with mine, & when it happened I wanted to cry. I think I did cry, actually... And along with the gas, mucousy stuff also. It's pretty disheartening. I was having gas & mucous come thru mine for about a year before any doctor verified that it was actually there- they used to say ridiculous things to me, like "You must not be wiping well".... ??@?#$??#%^%!!!!!! This was from my ob/gyn. Nothing showed up on a cat scan my GI ordered either, but it was there. I've had one now for close to 3 years, boohoo... But am used to it. I do have to wear either a pad or pantyliner every day, to catch the discharge.

I just wonder this I had a few what the hospital thought was a UTI however the C & S for both turned out to be normal yet the initial urine test showed bacteria.  That was within the past few months.  I notice around when I was having pains I was having a stronger odor in my discharge.  I noticed more recently that I have been passing some gas this way which is always accompanied by discharge.  I just wonder what is going on

when you say passing some gas "this way", do you mean you can feel it come out thru your vagina? There's no mistaking it, you have no control over it, since there's no real muscles there to hold it in. And discharge will come with it, yes- much stronger smelling than "usual". The discharge I experience is usually tinged with fecal matter too, just specks of it. It's not the thin clear typipcal discharge. Sorry to be gross..... the whole idea of an RV fistula is gross! I'd suggest mentioning it to your GI- they can do a CT scan, which may or may not show anything. Also, a colorectal surgeon *should* be able to find it with no problem. I had my GI & my Ob/Gyn look for mine- neither found a thing. But I KNEW it was there- it wasn't until I went to a colorectal surgeon that I was able to get medical confirmation. Unfortunately, for me there isn't much to be done. Surgical repair doesnt have good success rates, & it doesn't bother me physically, so I've opted to just let it be. For now! If I ever need to get the whole colon removed, I'll deal with it at that time.
