My husband was diagnosed with Crohn's last fall. he also has diabetes, congestive heart failure, and his hands shake due to haveing to take regulan. The one thing about his Crohn's that seems different is that he has chronic constipation. We tried going on a low residue diet but then his sugar crashes in the night with a blood sugar of 50 or less. We have been trying to find recipes that he can eat, don't or minimally affect his BS that I can eat also. Like most we can't afford to cook 2 separate meals. He isn't allowed to to cook because his hands shake so bad sometimes he can't carry a cup of coffee.
He is a technophobe so I have to do the info gathering and check with the forums and do the research.
Sorry if this seems disjointed.

I suffer with constipation with my Crohns too. I have to take stool softners nightly in order to keep things softer and easier to pass. Hope that helps and welcome to HW. Hugs!

I'm like nanners, but once I go in the a.m. I'll go 2 or 3 more times. I always need to get rid of the nights bile. meaning after i go once usually bile comes after. then I feel relly good. if it doesn't come out in the a.m. i worry because at some inappropiate time of the day it will. so I eat vegan withplenty of roughage, no green leafy or diary. lots of quinoa, (grian) buckwheat groats, (grain) but they're softer grains very easy to digest and super healthy, they break down in your stomach quite well.

Some folks on this forum have had good luck with the SCD Diet. You might want to google that. Its too restrictive for me, but many on this forum have had luck with it. Good luck!
