Hi Fellow Crohnies!

I've had Crohn's since 1976 so that explains the Old Timer status!  I fought like mad to gain control of the disease, the culmination of which was a 7 month hospitalization in 1979.  This was supposed to be a 30 day thing on TPN to give the bowel a complete rest.  However, everything that could go wrong - did.  Ultimately, the decision came down to an ileostomy or a walnut casket with brass handles from the local funeral home!

I spent the next three years being angry at the world for my ileostomy!  Got me nowhere!

Somewhere down the road, I finally reached an acceptance of what I would never be able to change.

Life is good!  I have learned how to live with an ostomy to the point where it doesn't control me or my life.  Just a slight alteration in my plumbing!

I hope that I can lend some support to newbies & maybe offer some tips on how to manage the ups & downs of dealing with Crohn's &/or ileostomies!
