Hi everyone,

In September I was hospitalized because of c diff. They told me it would likely happen again. Last time I had been sick for awhile and found myself wondering if I had c diff for a long time and they assumed it was a cd flare. Now I am getting frequent loose bms/diarrhea and there is an odor I remember from when I had c diff. It just doesn't seem like a "normal" flare for me so I'm worried it's cd again. Can it start mildly like this? I have no fever or cramping or pain at this point. But whatever is happening is getting worse each day not better.

I also have to pay for any medical expenses until I reach my overly high deductible. Still paying off last year's unfortunately. Does anyone have any idea how much a c-diff test costs?

Has anyone had any luck heading an infection off without needing antibiotics if it's caught early? I have been taking culturelle since my last episode.

Thanks!

wiki says Saccharomyces boulardii Lyo is the only probiotic worldwide known to diminish levels of Clostridium difficile in the body. S. boulardii Lyo can be found under the brand name Florastor; clinically proven as effective treatment alongside traditional medications.
so according to that you should specifically be taking Florastor. seems if you took the Florastor and ask prescription for metronidazole that should work.

dont know the cost for the test however.

Is florastor easy to find? I don't remember seeing it anywhere.
