pb4 and more need some Fiber advice galore.

Nice TITLE Huh? Crohnies gotta laugh 2 :-)


Ok so I am taking Miralax nightly for my narcotic usage to keep me going to the bathroom regularly.
BUT, Miralax wont do what the Calcium polycarbophil that BULK forms does correct?

Miralax is a lubricant or brings WATER to the Bowel.. For Crohnies.. I hurt leaky guts or more fluid is bad..

Should I Take The Bulk forming and the miralax? Like the Bulk former in the morning and miralax at night? Only because I want the Awesome benefits of the polycarbohpil but need to use the miralax because i get Diarrhea OVERFLOW from the fentanyl..

p.s The miralax isnt the type of fiber that helps with hemmies, polyps and "colon cancer prevention" right??

According to this

"There are no known interactions with Miralax An increase in fluid intake, a diet rich in fiber or bran, and regular exercise can improve bowel regularity. However, since a laxative effect may occur, other medications should not be taken at the same time because they may be swept down the intestine before they are dissolved and absorbed.
At times, a drug may have a different or enhanced effect when other diseases are present. At other times, the drug may worsen another disease. Generally, no laxative should be taken with certain intestinal or other diseases that can cause diarrhea. Discuss this with the physician."

bee propolis caps 500mg one cap twice/day
omegas 369 caps one cap twice/day
probiotics 10 billion cfu once/day
vitamins C-calcium ascorbate (easy on the gut) and vitamin A each once/day
Prodiem fibre supplement one cap before bed
I've also altered my diet (no junky stuff at all, processed, fast-foods, refined sugars, ect) and exercise regularly.
I went from 30+ bloody BM's/day with lots of lower back pain to an average of 5/day no bleeding no back pain and completely formed stools, still have severe urgency issues.

Also check out his link, it has some good info about constipation (usually what causes hemmies)....
 
 
And yes, you should be good with taking fibre supplements at night, that's when I take mine (and your Miralax in the am)...if ever in doubt though, be sure to discuss this with your doc.

Well I take the miralax at night so i can wake up like i always do and use the bathroom.

Prodiem like what you take is a bulk former. See this will absorb a lot of bad leaky gut and fluid in my small bowel.. Which is GOOD for Crohn's.

Miralax draws water to the intestines. I dont want it to make my crohn's worse.
I figure prodiem is real good and its what i used to take, but the miralax is needed for when im on narcotics.

You could play around, try taking the Prodiem (make sure it's the bulk fibre therapy kind, cuz they do have a laxative by the same name eh) in the morning or afternoon and see how that works for you...good for you, treading with caution is always best.
