We are in the middle of a big snow storm in Washington DC.  We have 20 inches already and they are predicting about 10 more today!  shakehead   This may not seem like much to some, but here everything is already at a stand-still.  Yes, we are complete whimps when it comes to snow.  Anybody else snow-bound?
Diagnosed with Crohn's in early 2007.  Several peri-rectal abscesses and two fistulae with setons.  Allergic to Remicade and Humira.  Currently on 6MP, and vitamins D and B-12.

Hey Fallcolors, I feel your pain. Here in Western PA we are also under about 20" of snow. DH is out right now trying to dig out a path to his tractor so he can plow. We're lucky to still have power at this point. Some local communities are declaring state of emergency and warning people to stay at home.

Stay warm!

Just outside Boston and they say it will just miss us, but it is sooooo cold. If it is going to be cold, I would rather be snow bound. I LOVE a good blizzard!

Send it all to Vancouver!!!! The olympics start in 6 days and the local mountain (Cyprus) that the snowboarding events happen is low on snow. Would you believe their trucking in snow from a park about 3 hours away lol. Murphy's at work here we get the olympics and the warmest winter in many years.

I'm buried in snow here in Leesburg, VA. It will take days to get out of here. I'm bored and ready to do something other than surf the web, watch tv and shovel snow.

Hi VAdreamer! I will start digging out tomorrow. I am going to take it very slow. Why not? We aren't going anywhere any time soon! And more snow is forecast for mid-week.

There are 300,000+ without power. We are going to have very cold temperatures over night for the next few nights. 12 degrees F tonight (eeek!) Praying for everyone without power.

FallColors - I got part of my car dug out. I can see the bumper. I'll try working on the car later today. As for power, I have been lucky - I haven't had any issues. Knock on wood. I doubt that anyone will be going anywhere Monday.Nice to meet you!

Hell Fall Colors....an ex Buffalo girl, but still a Western NYer here.  I know the snow (lived through the blizzard of 77 in Buffalo when everything was shut down for two weeks).  I hope you unbury soon!

So more snow this week...any idea when?  I am supposed to travel to Baltimore Wednesday night thru Th evening.  I really wouldn't mind if I had to cancel this one.

Hey Habs,

Check weather.com for Baltimore. There is a weather alert that says "ACCUMULATIONS... POTENTIAL FOR 5 OR MORE INCHES OF SNOW. TIMING... MID TO LATE TUESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON." I think you have your excuse not to travel.

Hey Sniper,

I see your temp today will be in the mid-60s. Glad somebody is warm! What would happen if you all got 2+ feet of snow??

Hey VADreamer1,

They are still predicting 5+ starting Tuesday.  My car is still buried!  We don't need anymore!

Oh thank you so so much VV. But please keep it all for yourself!

I am wondering if that will be DC's Tuesday/Wednesday storm, or the additional storm they are predicting for Friday/Saturday?

FC, if we got 2 feet of snow down here ? Well ,,first of all there would be wrecked cars all over the roads because the people down here dont know how to drive in snow. We get a little ice and they pile up on the side of the road like cast out beer cans. Second there would be a big fight about , should they try to go to work or not . Third there would be house fires as people tend to try to put those space heaters where they need them by useing those $1. extension cards from Wally World and then they throw rugs over them so they dont trip . Then there would be no water because people here drip the faucets trying to keep the pipes from freezing and the pipes freeze anyway. There would be a run on the stores for bottled water and canned goods. The weather channel would have some poor dude out in it up to his neck, even though its only two feet deep and they would be exalting themselves for the great job they do. Annnnnd , I would be sitting on my back porch with a warm cup of coffee working on how to hit my neighbor with a snow ball without getting clobbered in retaliation.

Hey Sniper -- then there would be the hysteria when all the local critters try to get into homes in order to get out of the snow. I am trying to imagine gators in snow drifts. Actually they have more sense and would sink to the bottom of the bayou to get out of the storm. Not humans -- we immediately get in our cars and head at high speed to the nearest ditch. Maybe you will get snow now that -- as you pointed out -- heck has frozen over.

Fc...we are now predicted to get a good bit of snow on Wednesday. I am just waiting to see the drivers that drive like they "have never driven in snow before". My husband has an oversized working truck with 4x4 and he hates the snow...everyone else in big SUVs thinks they are unstoppable. My first driving lesson was in a snowstorm....thanks to my brother, I know how to be cautious and drive without my GPS pointing right to the drifts!
Sorry...but I am hoping you get enough more snow on Tuessday to keep me from heading to BWI.

Hey Habs, I'm one of those people who drive the big SUV's your husband complains about. The problem in the snow is that they go through everything, but he's right they are unstoppable, the vehicles themselves! Its a big huge piece of metal and the brakes are no different than any other car. I may be from NE and love a good blizzard but I have respect for the SNOW.
