I wanted to see if these talblets would absorb any water and get better so i put 1 in a bottle of water. It didnt even change in size? how come?

Does it have to hit the stomach acid first? Or whats the deal.. I read that fibercon or polycarbophil can absorb like 60 times its weight.

No. the polymer however is synthetic (the calcium salt of polyacrylic acid cross-linked with divinyl glycol) will absorb in neutral pH (tap water) even beyond the amount you say...should see something similar to that when you put a natural such as metamucil in water... however the tablet itself has a shell (combination of excipient, disintegrant etc) so that could change the situation (such as for delivery),,,the influencing ingredient that I see is the cros and providone, (is like a polymer adhesive)... actual ingredients: calcium carbonate, caramel, crospovidone, hypromellose, light mineral oil, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, povidone, silicon dioxide, and sodium lauryl sulfate.

did you try to open the tablet a bit then see if its different in lemon juice versus water. apparently in water it will swell more than in the acid.

Didn't swell at all whatsoever. The pharmacist said there is enzymes and gasses needed by the body in the bowel to do so.

Good thing, you don't want it to start swelling while it's in your esophagus...besides, as fara s I can tell it obviously does something in there cuz I sure noticed better formed stools than what I had before using it (which was mostly mushy stools).

:)
bee propolis caps 500mg one cap twice/day
omegas 369 caps one cap twice/day
probiotics 10 billion cfu once/day
vitamins C-calcium ascorbate (easy on the gut) and vitamin A each once/day
Prodiem fibre supplement one cap before bed
I've also altered my diet (no junky stuff at all, processed, fast-foods, refined sugars, ect) and exercise regularly.
I went from 30+ bloody BM's/day with lots of lower back pain to an average of 5/day no bleeding no back pain and completely formed stools, still have severe urgency issues.
~~~~~~~~My bum is broken....there's a big crack down the middle of it! LOL :)~~~~~~~~
