Seems like I've seen a lot of posts from pregnant women and new moms lately. Just wanted to see who else is out there and find out how you're doing.

Other than having no interest in food, I'm doing great. This poor boy is going to get all his nutrients from breakfast cereal, bagels and vitamins because that's all I want to eat. I did so much better last time. Ate a lot of pureed veggie soups to make up for the veggies I couldn't eat. Also drank veggie juice. Not this time.

I've been flaring since giving birth in Aug. 2008. Prednisone calmed me for awhile but I couldn't deal with the side effects. I begin Cimzia next week. Would love to have another but GI advises against it. So sad...

Hi there, I had a little one in April 08 and it was after that my symptoms really started to kick in though not diagnosed till late last year.

Have just started 6mp and trying to get into remission so can try for another little one. GI said that I can't until I'm in remission so hope it happens...
Diagnosed with Crohn's in November 2009 but suffering since I was a child.

Back on higher dose of Prednisone and about to start 6mp
Prednisone and Imuran (ended up with allergic reaction to the Imuran)

I have an 08 toddler too. Hope both of you can get into remission soon and be healthy for another.
Wren- 6mp was the magic drug for me. Hope it works for you too!!

The first 17 weeks or so of this pregnancy were bliss and then I nose dived....

Losing weight due to an inability to eat... Back on all the meds... Just praying they start doing their thing asap. I am 21 weeks and have a ways to go and will never make it if I continue on this path.

That being said, the last 36 hours or so have been great so I am holding out hope that I just carry on in this direction.

Only consolation is that baby is doing amazingly well and that is a blessing.

Hi, I had a bad flare after giving birth in 2005 and it took 2 years and a resection to get me in remission so that I could have another baby. Our girl is going to be 1 year in a few weeks and I would sooo love to have another one ! I love being pregnant and really enjoy breastfeeding ! But I know it is mainly hormones talking-our house, money situation, me needing to go back to work (need a break from nappies), health - physical and mental :-) speak against it.

Timnlay -- hope the trend continues. You're on new meds now right? That might just do it. Hope so!!
Joohana -- I totally understand on the hormones speaking differently than everything else. I became baby crazy before my daughter was two months old. I LOVE being pregnant and breast feeding too. We're having to move now to have room for this baby. Hope you stay healthy.

Hi all. I am 27, almost 28 weeks and am in the hospital. The inflammation got out of control and it kicked off preterm labor. Now I am hooked up to all sorts of meds praying baby boy will stay in the womb a little longer. My last pregnancy was perfect. This one has been riddled with "pregnancy pains" as my ob put it. Turns out pregnancy was masking cd symptoms.

Please make sure to see your gi on a VERY regular basis while pregnant. I don't want anyone to go through the heartbreak and misery that I am having to endure right now. And if something doesn't feel right or seem right to you--QUESTION IT! This is your body and your baby. Please take care.
Much love from the hospital bed.

Very best wishes to you, CrohnieYogi. I am sorry for your pain. It's so scary when another wee one is involved too. My doc advises me to be happy with my one happy, healthy daughter. Of course I am but am always tempted for another, but stories like yours make me take pause. I send you my thoughts and prayers. It's what he warns me of.

Crohnieyogi-- hang in there and keep that little guy cooking. I know I feel a lot different with this boy. Things were perfect with my daughter. Thanks for the warning on keepingnup with our GIs. Let us know how you're doing.

CrohnieYogi, sorry to hear about your worries and pain. Thinking of you and your baby boy, every day he stays in there counts!
Good luck !

Thank you for the thoughts and prayers everyone. Each day has been a challenge, but each day has shown improvement. Please don't let my distress discourage anyone from trying to get healthy enough to get pregnant. This is 99% my fault. I had moved overseas, got busy setting up house and didn't find a new gi. When I found out I was pregnant I found an ob who APPEARED to know something about cd, so I didn't bother with finding a gi. And I should have. That should have been priority number 1, but I didn't do it. And what I thought was sickness from pregnancy was really inflammation literally knocking on my uterous.

Women with cd have healthy pregnancies and healthy babies everyday. It's just up to us to stay in constant communication with our doctors. There has even been a big study on pregnancy outcomes that proves it. Perhaps it can be found on the ccfa website?

Thanks again for the wellwishes. By the way, I am on prednisone for the first time. Right now I'm at 40mg a day. about how long can I expect to be on this through the weaning process?

Hi all,
Good luck with your pregnancies!
Hubby and I are thinking of possibly trying this year. I am on Imuran (Crohn's is apparently 'inactive' yippee!), my Dr says it is fine to continue taking the Imuran whilst pregnant, but I wont be able to breastfeed (which bothers me).
Any thoughts/ experience on the medication whilst pregnant situation?
:)

Still doing good, well as good as can be :o)

Now that the Entocort has kicked in I am feeling way better. 23 weeks today and praying I stay on this path. So nice to feel baby kicking, not tummy gurgling.

Keep strong all you other mommies to be.

La.
