My primary physician has recommended a program called First Line Therapy by Metagenics. Apparently, he says they have seen good results with people who have crohnic conditions such as Crohn's. Just curious if anyone has heard or tried it before. Thanks!

After a quick google search it seems to be a for-profit enterprise by the company Metagenics. They offer doctors a 3 day "certification" which includes how and when to prescribe metagenics' products. I saw no details on any of the products or what dietary advice they give.

Did your doc give you any other information?

Seems a little suspicious to me.

I don't know about the diet, but my Naturopath has me on their products called UltraInflamaX.  My doc has Crohn's, and takes the stuff too.  It's supposed to be designed for people like us.  :)

Personally, I take Inflammatone. Similar product - lots of anti-inflammatory properties.

Thank you for your responses. I did a Google search too and didn't find much information as far as the diet goes. I have an appoitment on Tuesday with a nutriionist at my doctor's office.

I am a little desperate at this point. I used to be under weight, and due to steriods and Humira I have gained 15 pounds over the past couple of years. I am a small person, so this is a lot of weight for me that is giving me a lot of back pain. I have tried numerous other diets and have not had great success. It's funny, even on the meds, I would be surprised if I actually retained at least 1000 calories a day. I am also starting a new exercise program....trying to get "bikini" ready and some self confidence back! :)
