Bad Crohns dayyesterday!  D alllll day! Just wanted to drink gatorade all day and get my electrolytes up...it just has so much sugar! Been feeling funny when I have sweetener like splenda and nutrasweet...so I've been avoiding. Makes me want to pee all the time.  Do you diabetic/crohnies just ignore your sugar on bad Crohn days? Just confused on what disease to worry about more...cry

ohio have u tasted that crap??????? lol sorry it makes me gag lol......flowery i have diab too thanks to pred. I have to do 4 needles a day both slow and quick insulin. however, on those really bad days when i do not eat i don't do the insulin cause then i'll crash so i just (i know bad to say) ignore the diab and stay on clear fluids till tummy calms down. My diab dr told me though that its impossible to have perfect control with the pred and crohn's etc and what i am doing is working so he isn't going to give me any advice lol. i would just alternate btn water and gatorade (personally i drink ginergerale cause i dont like gatorade but i know its better for you electrolyte wise). Just an fyi too artificial sweetners set off my crohn's i cannot use them.
the diab nurse wants me to replace meals with glucerna if i am ill, these aren't bad either and i have done this but at times when i am extremely ill i still stay with water. Glucerna has no dairy in it and no sugar they are made for diabetics.

Terry,  ya, I was kinda doing the ignor thing on diabetes for a day or two...just don't know what else to do. Gotta get my system back to some normalcy. There aren't too many people with both and even when you talk to the diabetes Dr. and my G.I...let's just say it's interesting! Gonna see my G.I. next week for the first time since I was diagnosed with diabetes. But, until then thanks information on sweetner too.

I'm an ignorer too, and I know its bad but its like the diets, ones good for crohns but bad for Diab. and vice versa. You just cant win sometimes. Mumble mumble....
