Can anyone tell me a good vitamin or product to help with these areas....hair mostly.  Being on and off all these meds my hair started to fall out and it's growing back in now and it's all frizzy.  I wanted to start something to make my hair stronger and more shiny.  I take B12 shots once a month, and today I bought Super Biotin (I've heard that mentioned here before I think)..any other ideas? I'm just trying to see what all is out there.

Thanks!

I recently emailed the girl who used to do my hair asking the same thing! Here is what she wrote back:

"vitamin B, flaxseed or salmon oil supplements and vitamin E.....i know its a lot of pills, but i guess you're used to that sort of thing.....those will help from the inside.....as far as the outside you could use nioxin shampoos and treatments, which you can get at most beauty supplies, or kerastase sells a new shampoo for thinning hair"

I also think that folic acid helps alot, I'm now taking that, flaxseed oil and biotin! In terms of shampoo and conditioner I really like aveda, it's all natural and plant based and makes my hair very shiny and soft : )

Salmon oil sounds good, I was lookin at the fish oil tablets but decided to go for the Biotin.  You're right about the folic acid, I totally forgot about that!

For cleaning my hair I'm actually using the product Wen, you might have seen the infomerical for it. It's not shampooing your hair. It doesn't strip your hair of it's natural oils, it's awesome!! but very expensive ($30 for a months supply).

Thanks so much!

Most Health food shops sell a vitamin/nutrient product(tablets) specifically aimed at skin/teeth and nails.

I have always heard that Folic Acid and Biotin help to stop the hair shedding.

I also used nioxin and all it did was dry out my hair more, so I switched to damage remedy from Aveda and it rocked!

I have been taking walgreen's prenatal multi vitamins.  My nails grew thick and strong and my hair stopped falling out.  I switched to a cheaper brand and all of my nails broke.  So I just recently switched back because I know they were working now.  It has the most vitamins without taking a bunch of pills.  I also take fish oil on the side form Omega 3s.
Current meds:  Remicade and Imuran 50mgs

I just started taking Evening Primrose Oil pills. A girl at my work actually gave me a bottle, and a bunch of people at my job actually swear by it. But I will just have to see. Thanks for posting this, it was really helpful to me too!
