I began Remicade infusions late last year and have had three so far at two-month intervals. The only real side effect I've developed so far is thrush. This began between my second and third treatments. I have been on Nystatin mouth rinse @ two teaspoons 4x/day for three consecutive and flucanozole 100mg 1x/day for three, non-consecutive courses. I exhibited about an 85% improvement with little change after that point. My Dr. has now started me on fluconazole @ 2x/day for one month. Was just wondering if anyone else has developed this problem and, if so, what treatment they received and how long it took to clear up the problem. Also, if an when cleared, did you remain on some medication prophylactically?

Hi Amalfi and welcome to Healingwell. I don't have any experience with this, but did want to say hello and welcome to the forums. Things are a little slower on the weekends, so do be patient, someone who has more experience with this will be a long soon. Hugs!

I am having thrush and candida problems too but it was a result of chemo. You may find this post interesting

Just as a side note...1 teaspoon = 5ml. So you're talking 10ml 4x a day? Thats a high dose...I read that for an adult, 5ml 4x a day is the recommended amount.
