this is reguarding anyone that has major hair loss problems right now.....this may help you!! It helped me tremedously and you should try it!
I thought I was loosing hair due to all my medication. I mean I lost over half my hair and I thought it would never stop!! I was crying all the time and embarrassed!!  My GI doctor had me see the best Dermo Dr. around. She took a scalp sample right away. When the results came back a few days later, she told me I had inflammation of my scalp. She could tell by just looking at it also but took a sample just in case. My scalp was itchy, red, and my hair was falling out in clumps. She started me on a foam medicine right away.
It is called OLUX FOAM (.05%), or a generic name for it is CLOBETASOL PROPIONATE FOAM
This medicine saved my scalp and my hair stopped about 1 week after applying it 2 times a day. Once before bed and once in the morning. It is a topical steroid and it works.
I advise anyone experiencing major hairloss.....please talk and suggest to your GI and Dermo Dr. about this. I am only 25 years old and losing my hair was tramatic!!!! I really don't want anyone else suffering from the hairloss like I did. I know Ive read may blogs on young adults like myself having the same problem. Dont hesitate to ask me any questions. My hair is growing back more and is stronger than ever! I hope this helps someone :)

I live in the Chicago area. She is a dermotologist in the Elgin, IL area. She was wonderful. You should go to your dermo and ask to try that stuff I posted about earlier. I am only 25 and lost almost 1/2 my hair!!!!!!!! It was soooooo depressing!!! I deeply feel your pain. My hair is now growing back like crazy.....I really insist you make an apt. asap! Good luck and Let me know what happens.

I've been experiencing hairloss paralel to my UC and Crohn's, and believed it was related to it, and inevitable... I am glad you found the solution for you, but I'm not sure wheather anyone should apply the foam without consulting their doctor...

Alot of Crohnies have had luck with the hair shedding from Crohns, by adding Folic Acid and Biotin. But if those don't work for you, then do talk to your doctor.

Has anybody tried propecia? I've heard great things and its just 1 pill 1 time a day... Very minimal side-effects other than having to urinate a lot. My best friend who is a Derm said that it would not affect any other medicines I am taking nor affect the stomach.
