I need to get my mind off of "me" today. rolleyes So...If you had 7 glorious days without a Crohn's diagnosis and worrying about symptoms, food, bathrooms...etc., where would you go and what would you do?

I would take a vacation to the beach with my family.  I would love to just relax in the sun, make sand castles, and watch the kids splash and have fun!

I would eat all the cajun food, steak, milkshakes, ice cream, popcorn, raw fruit & raw veggies, nachos, pizza (and the list goes on) that my body could hold for 7 whole days and after each meal I would jog, swim, lift weights, go to the beach and all the physical activities I could muster. Then I'd finish it all off with all the mixed drinks I could handle, sit back and laugh at my dog as I stated "see, I can do what you do too"! Wait a minute.....isn't all that nasty food and drink what flared me in the first place....Oh...to dream! :)

Honestly, If I had 7 days symptom free, 7 days of normal weight.. etc..

I'd finally get out to the city and have a good time. Finally Not worry about stuff. Just LIVE for a week.

I would load up the truck with camping gear, hitch up the boat and go camping by a lake. Sleeping in our tent, breakfast over an open fire, smores over the campfire at night, fishing and water skiing.
Dx'd w/ Crohn's in 1979 at age 14, have had minor flares throughout the years, but mostly kept in remission. Bad flare 2008 but no health insurance so I dealt with it. Colonoscopy in July 2009 caused a perforated colon, emergency bowel resection. Was on Pred. Dr. wants to try Humira...
Currently just take a multivitamin, calcium, magnesium, and fish oil.

If avoiding putting on weight could be chucked in as part of the deal, I'd become an eating machine for a week. You name it: I'd eat it. (Except for avocado and asparagus.)

lol. I've had a pretty good week with the Prilosec working for the Gerd and my bland-ish diet. But I got extra hungry this weekend and I guess went a little overboard on eating or eating outside of my "bland" but barely, so I don't know what set me off, diarrhea, cramps today and I needed a nap b/c it made me tired. So back to blandish diet tomorrow. I took some bites of my son's chicken sausage and I wonder if it was too spicey and that did it.

I should ask my aunt she has crohn's pretty bad if she gets 7 days worth of relief, I guess I'll be talkin' to her more ; )

Hypothyroid, newly dx'd Crohn's, Gerd. I love to look for natural ways to heal first, conventional ways second and keep my faith.

All inclusive beach vacation.
The few vacations I've been on, I had to prepare my own food, but what kind of a vacation is that?

Sana Bell island , Fla. picking up shells and seeing the sites, walking with the birds and watching the sun sets. Nights with a flash light on the beach looking at the live shells like Lightning Welks as they move in the shallows searching for food. Sea turtles lumbering in the sand , nesting . Key Lime pie , grooper fingers and frys. Watching my wife shop and loving the sea breeze.
If we would read the secret history of our enemies,we would find in each mans life sorrow and suffering enough to disarm all hostility.

I just went on a 7 day service trip with my school in rural southwest Virginia. I ate pretty much anything I wanted.... PBJ, Cereal, Steak, Sausage, Eggs, Pizza, etc....

I survived...

You'd be surprised... When you really have things to do and you don't think about it symptoms are a lot better.

I would travel somewhere farther than 2-3 hours away whether by flight or car or etc. But definetly travel somewhere.
