Well I'm not sure if this has anything to do with my crohn's, but ever since the disease came into my life I've been having alot of loud stomach growling throughout the day. I'd be sitting in my college class taking a test and I could just feel like my stomach is going to make a sound. And these growling sounds are kinda loud so you could imagine how embarrassing it is to be in a classroom that's silent and having everyone around me hear that. I just wanted to know if anyone else has the same problem, and how I might be able to keep my stomach from doing that.
Also, it's not because I don't eat, I would eat a snack in the morning and around 9 am my stomach would go back to growling...

My dad's stomach (he also has crohn's) has always been really loud, especially if he drinks something. Mine used to be loud (after eating), but after surgery, it stopped. My stricture must have been the cause of all the glurking.

I don't know how to stop it, except to not eat or drink before class. Even that might not do it.

oh gosh ,when I was really young .in my twenties, I went on a date and when we got back and he took me home my stomach was so loud. I was so embarrassed it wouldn't stop. He thought I was hungry. Its ,I think I don't know for sure but a combination of things. What food that was ate, like fatty food particularly fast food. And Im thinking caffeine, and of course anxiety I think it can stir the juices. It still happens from time to time. I also believe it gets worse has it gets active. Anyway thats my theroy. Im not a doctor or anything. Oh I also think eating to fast and swallowing to much air. If you find out the real reason I would like to know. Have a good one. :-)

It's likely food moving through strictures in your bowel caused by inflammation or scarring from Crohn's. As food builds up pressure at this points, and gets enough pressure to push through, you get noises. My noises increased a lot after a big flareup in early 1999.

I always have growling noises in my stomach. I think its where the food is passing through the intestines. Some days it's louder than others and it can be embarrassing. There have been days when I have been sitting watching tv and all you can hear over the tv is my belly making weird noises!!! And when I go to bed and am relaxed I hear it noticeably more as well, maybe its when we are relaxed we hear it more, but I dont think theres anything that can actually stop it.
I have heard that peoples stomachs can actually be seen moving when food passes through it as well. I know mine does sometimes bit it's not as bad as the noises!

I was at a friends house watching a movie the other night and my stomach would NOT STOP making ridiculous noises :( They were all laughing and I felt like crying... also hate when it happens in a really quiet lecture at school. Not much we can do about it I guess

Saturdays,my wife and I go out to dinner with friends,I drank a soda and couldn't eat any of my dinner.
While we played cards after dinner, and my digestive tract was doing backflips and growled away they said
just once "are you O.K.?"People once they understand what your going through leave you alone.
I can remember at work in meetings, people giving me dirty looks.(I'd clench my abs to stop the noise)
They would be like "why don't you eat something?" GRRRRRR...

I too wonder if you possibly have a stricture or narrowing area? But...I also know that Crohnie guts like to do that alot just because of disease activity.

I'm not sure...I will probably ask my doctor next time I see him. Though, I don't think he'd know what makes my stomach make those noises..
