I was thinking of trying this food as it is hugely popular right now and everyone says it is a great substitute for chips if you salt them.  However, I can't handle fiber...I don't do veggies or fruits due to pain and blaoting.  What are these like???

Edamame is DELICIOUS especially just steamed with a bit of salt... but they are super fibrous (about on par with regular beans) and yeah they are basically soy beans. So if you can't tolerate soy or regular beans it might not work. You never know though! You should give it a try cause it's so delicious!

thanks...drat. I will have to wait for my gut to settle down to even give them a test run. I can only do very tiny amounts of green beans on my very best days so it sounds like these are a no go.

I love edamame... but, I don't eat that many in one sitting. I never thought about the fiber! I've never noticed feeling worse after eating my small amount of them.

Edamame doesn't bother me and I just eat it plain steamed (in the microwave).  But, I usually have C instead of D anyway, so extra fiber is good for me.  My husband doesn't eat many veggies and he likes putting edamame in with Ramen noodles.
