Ive noticed thru some of the post that some people are put on way more than 40mg of predisone. I was put on 80mg at one point in my life, of course it created a lot of other problems. I had to take blood pressure medicine and other things. Anyway I went to a different specialist the was the head of a teaching hospital. When he saw me he was mad he told me that if 40mg doesn't do it then I needed to be put on something else. I had moon face I also had cushing gold syndrome. A hump on my back not real bad but it was there.
anyway just wondering if anyone else has herd of that about the dosage.

Some doctors just seem to go overboard in my opinion with Pred. I never take more than 30 mg as a starting dose as I get too many side effects on higher doses. I do agree with your doc that 40 mg should be the top dosage. Good luck!

I've been on really high doses and suffered the terrible side effects. Now I refuse to go higher than 30, maybe 40 if they insist, but they have to give me something to calm me down because my heart races all day and then sleeping pills because I can't sleep. Its a bit crazy, I end up taking tons of meds to counter the side effects. But prednisone is the one drug that seems to stop my flares in their tracks.

Managing with strict low residue diet, keeping symptoms to a minimum. All test show small amount of ulceration, still have occasional blockages. But still have a great time with my 2 daughters and husband!
