I've been diagnosed with crohn's since 1992.  I had two bowel resections and one obstruction surgery that did not require a resection.  Surgeries basically occur every seven years.  currently taking 6mp, pentasa and vitamin d supplements.  Had 3 remicade treatments in 2002 and just started remicade again 3 weeks ago and had a reaction to the therapy.  Intense joint pain that had to be controlled with steroids.  currently have joint pain only in my shoulders and hope that it dissapates soon.

unfortunately it looks as if my 13 year old son has joined the ranks of this club also.  his diagnosis is pending a ct scan whether its uc or crohns.  the gift that keeps on giving

Hey Grimster and welcome to the best Crohns forum out there. Only sorry you have to here though:( I am sorry to hear your son might have IBD too. I can't imagine how hard as a mom that must be. Sounds like you have a good med mix there, hoping you and he can reach remission soon. Stay with us, and ask any questions you might have, someone will be along with an answer soon. Hugs!
