I was able to get rated life insurance 8 years ago with CD, which I've had for 20 years. But in the last 6 months, when trying to get more life insurance, I have been denied twice. My disease is fairly under control, no hospital visits in last 10 years, on regular meds. Anyone able to get insurance after being denied? Which company? I'm otherwise in good health. No smoking or high blood pressure or any other conditions.

I haven't had any luck finding life insurance either and I have no policies. My husband applied for a minimal policy through his employeer and I was denied. If you find anyone let me know!

I was able to get term life from my professional organization..the National Association of Social workers, only because there were no medical questions required. I can't get any whole life insurance or anything that looks at medical history. Does any one know if the new health care bill covers pre-existing conditions for life insurance, or is it just health insurance?

luckily my previous employers had group policies that i was able to get even with my problems. what you need to try is if you belong to a credit union or org. that has a group coverage, most wont deny you with health ptoblems. for the basic amounts they offer so if you join groups just take the 1k of free covergae they all offer, you could get 5k easy with differant groups. i did get accepted by state farm once a few years ago but they wanted 1500 a month.. for like 50k in coverage i have enough already so i told them to shove it. once you do get some though be sure to never let it lapse!

When I first started reading this post, I thought WHAT!  Why would CD affect Life Insurance?  Then I saw the responses.

When I got my insurance, I don't remember anyone asking, and I never told.  CD will not kill you anymore so I don't know why it should affect life insurance.  I understand medical, but not life.  Right now I am with Met Life.  Try them out.

My wife who has CD was denied coverage about 6mths ago by Northwest Mutual. I then had my agent check around with other carriers with no luck at all. The only option presented was an extremely expensive whole life hybrid. The cost was so much I did not look any farther at that one.

I have life insurance thru my employer for myself and my husband. I worry though for that time when I am going to retire, if that will still be one of my benefits.
