PB4, I'm in Canada and the stores that stock NW Reuteri are telling me that the only Reuteri the company is now shipping to Canada has FOS, which I refuse to eat.  Where do you get your Reuteri from?

thanks

Hi Rider Fan, I was getting mine from Sangsters Health food store, but I switched from Reuteri to Sangsters brand called ProBio TX-11 due to Reuteri doubling in price (for no good reason, they said it was a result of changing their packaging which is BUNK cuz the packaging looks exactly the same as before)....I'm having just as much success with the Sangsters brand called ProBio TX-11, it has 10n billion active cells (Reuteri has 5 billion) and it contains the same as the Reuteri plus some other variations)...60 caps for 22.99 or 120 for 43.00, 120 caps of the reuteri costs almost 60 compared to 35 that is used to cost, but it contains FOS, so my only suggestion is to ask a health food clerk that is familiar with the Reuteri and see if they can find one that's comparable to it (maybe even better) that doesn't contain FOS.

:)
bee propolis caps 500mg one cap twice/day
omegas 369 caps one cap twice/day
probiotics 10 billion cfu once/day
vitamins C-calcium ascorbate (easy on the gut) and vitamin A each once/day
Prodiem fibre supplement one cap before bed
I've also altered my diet (no junky stuff at all, processed, fast-foods, refined sugars, ect) and exercise regularly.
I went from 30+ bloody BM's/day with lots of lower back pain to an average of 5/day no bleeding no back pain and completely formed stools, still have severe urgency issues.
~~~~~~~~My bum is broken....there's a big crack down the middle of it! LOL :)~~~~~~~~
One thing to consider, the fact that I have not found any issues using the Sangsters brand that does contain FOS could mean that they put such a small amount in that it's virtually harmless, I don't know, all I do know is that I haven't had any negative issues as a result since switching.
Good luck :)
Thanks. Reuteri seems to be really hard to find, and I've called all over and no one has it except for Sangsters, and they have FOS. I'm so reluctant to try FOS right now, especially when I read that it can feed Klebsiella. I don't know what to do! :(
Fructooligosaccharides. A prebiotic, ie. its supposed to feed the good bacteria in your gut. Problem is, it may also feed the bad bacteria. It's a controversial topic in the health food industry.
Ordered some from Vitacost a few months back. Are you finding this to be more helpful than other strains of probiotics? We haven't notice a change.
    I use Primadolphis Fortify. It has 8 billion CFU's in it. I looked at the box lastnight and it didn't say anything about FOS in it. Hope that helps a little. Disclaimer: I am in the US. Its also a little more pricey than the Reuteri.
    Thank you MoobyDoo and Nanners. I will look into both of your leads. Mooby, VitaCost is Florida based so I'll have to look into whether they ship to Canada.  I can't say for sure, but I think it helped with digestion.
    They do ship internationally, and I believe Canada is included in that. You'd probably want to check into shipping expense tho, to make sure it was worth it.  I purchase a lot of supplements from this site and find it to be reliable, less expensive than other sites selling the same items, and customer friendly...not to mention they have about 90% of what I am usually shopping for so it's one stop shopping for me.  Just my two cents, take it for what it's worth. Hope it helps.
    Wow, that site charges $17 for 90 pills. I was paying $20 for 30 pills at the health food store...unbelievable.
    I put my order in and I'll let you know if I get it.
    Rider Fan, make sure they ship it cold-packed otherwise the potenecy will diminish if it's not kept cold....At Sangsters when I used to buy it I paid about 35.00 for 90 caps....for them to increase their price to 65.00 for 90 caps really soured me.
    I was able to convince the owner of the nutrition house in Market Mall to carry them, pricey yes but they work for me and there are so many varietys out there I'd rather pay than to keep experimenting. smile
    I got my order of Reuteri from iHerb. They have it for $18 for 90 caps. I was able to use a first time customer coupon for $5 off. about time I order another bottle.
    The one thing I liked about iHerb compared to other sites I priced is they say they keep it refrigerated prior to shipment. Not sure if others do as well or just keep it on a shelf...
    It looks like they only carry the one with FOS though. Although I see they do have the Fortify kind.
    I was under the assumption that all new shipments of it has FOS. I am looking into giving Fortify a shot.
    My Reuteri is in the city, but according to the UPS tracking it's stuck in the warehouse and I won't get them until Monday. They were shipped on Thursday. I've emailed Nature's Way to inquire about room temperature stability, but I doubt I'll get a reply.
    So frustrated...sigh
    Well the bottles came today and they have FOS. Big waste of money. Good luck to me getting my money back. I'm finished.
    Sorry to hear that. Since they didn't mention it on their website that I saw I would ask for a refund.
