I'm off to see my GI this morning and I'm a bit worried about this appointment. My liver function tests have been slowly creeping up, so he's been doing monthly blood work and I'm going in to discuss. I pretty sure this is going to be the end of the road for me and my 6MP after 12+ years. But on top of that I have had some random symptoms that I was a bit concerned about so I did some googling over that last few days. I have a metallic smell to my stool more often than not, blood loss? and I have whole body itchiness, and just really fatigued. Individually these things are not huge, but when I researched one, they all came up as symptoms of problems with the liver. I'm concerned that the high liver values have done some real damage to my liver and I may be looking at something more than just the fatty liver I was diagnosed with years ago. I just dread the testing and I'm not sure what my next medication option will be. I hate the unknown. At least I should have an idea of what is going on by later today.

I could just use some positive thoughts sent out into the great wide world today! Thanks! turn

Managing with strict low residue diet, keeping symptoms to a minimum. All test show small amount of ulceration, still have occasional blockages. But still have a great time with my 2 daughters and husband!

Good luck today, Zanne. And God bless. Hopefully the anticipation is decidedly worse than the actuality.

I'm sending good thoughts your way. Hopefully you'll get a good game plan and that'll ease your mind.

Please let us know how things go for you. I'm in a kinda similar situation. I've been on Humira for a couple years and my LFT's have been high for a while. Because I was on blood thinners I couldn't have the liver biopsy (to confirm fatty liver hopefully!). I'm off coumadin now (as of last week) and will repeat my bloodwork and go from there. I'm afraid it'll be more than just a fatty liver and I'll have to go off Humira, which has kept me from having obstructions for 2 years.

((((HUGS)))))

So I'm done with googling! Probably not, but I should be. I had myself in a panic over the last few days looking up what could be wrong, and what my next medication would be (not ready to start self injecting).

My doctor and I went over my blood work from the last 5 years and it turns out that this seems to be my pattern. My liver function is always a bit on the high side, but it spikes and then goes back down to my "normal", sometimes overnight. The other symptoms he isn't too concerned about, but he is running some other blood work and I'll hear about that in a few days or weeks. Thyroid and big surprise for all of us, he's checking my Vit D, despite the 57,000 IU I take each week, and a few other test thrown in for good measure. Just to be on the safe side he's also ordered standing blood work so I'll be monitored more now. I also thought for sure I would be headed for a colonoscopy, but I'm not, YAY!!!!

Thank you all, its nice to have a place to vent and get my worries out. My husband just doesn't get it when I worry about what might happen, but how can I not, when most things have happened, and I need to be prepared. I'd rather be surprised in a good way, like today, than surprised in a bad way.
