Hi everyone..

I am STILL trying to get better since having my wisdom tooth pulled out on the 16th.... I was feeling SOOOO much better from the Entocort, even though I had only taken it for 3 days.. THEN.. I had to have my wisdom tooth out and my pain came back the very next day.. UGH... Well, I've been on Entocort still and Pentasa... the pain isn't as bad, but it's not completely gone.. I'm so worried I screwed things up by having my tooth pulled out so soon after starting Entocort. Now it seems I can't catch up to where I was..

The reason I'm so worried is I can't take any stronger meds besides Prednisone.. I can't take Remicade or Humira.. I'm afraid if I can't get things settled down I'll have to have surgery..

I am on a pretty much baby food diet, I'm trying to keep it as bland as possible and I just don't know what else I can do...

Just needed to vent.... I haven't had a break in over a year and I'm SO TIRED.... :(

was it an upper or a lower? maybe they didnt get the whole root. maybe its infected? have you gone back for xrays? they can usually see if there is an abcess ... if it was an upper the root may have gone into the sinus cavity and that may be infected by drainage coming from the sinus's.

i do feel for ya as i had my #10 tooth break off at the gum line friday night at 10pm ....of course like a pain attack always on a weekend or a holiday right?

Did they give you antibiotics to take after the tooth pull? Antibiotics are not friendly to our guts sometimes, and can make D even worse. Just a thought!

Oh shoot guys!!! I'm sorry, I wasn't clear with my post.. oops~!

My tooth extraction is healing just fine :) No pain at all from having my tooth pulled. The pain I was talking about, and totally didn't make myself clear on was the abdominal pain I was having before starting Entocort... lol.. Sorry about that!

Ya, I had been having this pain for about 2 1/2 months, then started Entocort, felt SOOOO Much better in just 3 days, then had my tooth pulled out and the abdominal pain came back the very next day and I'm still trying to get better again...

Been on a baby food diet, eating as bland as possible and praying that I get better again... I don't want to have surgery...

Maybe your body was just stressed a little from the tooth extraction, maybe things will calm down soon. Lets hope so! Hugs!

I had all my wisdom teeth pulled out on January 28th, and then I started Lialda a few days later.
It probably wasn't the best time to do that.
My entire mouth broke out in ulcers!
I had one from left to right on the bottom of my tongue! And an inch long one on my lower lip. Plus others in the back and sides.
It took 2 weeks for all of them to heal.
The dentist and my GI both said it was the stress of the procedure.
They didn't offer to give me any antibiotics.
They gave me vicodin which did absolutely nothing.
bah
Diagnosed with typical Crohn's at 16.
Got lucky with Asacol for a year, then even luckier with ten years of relative remission.
Now abscesses and fistulas are having an "atypical" Crohn's party around my junk.
My HMO refused the Remicade and now I could be going on Lialda or sulfa? blah
