A client of mine sent me this article about how Crohn's symptoms can be helped with coconut oil

Has anyone tried this or heard anything about it? I HATE the taste of coconut, but would be willing to try it if I knew more about this.  Thanks!

I use it for baking and cooking. It can be substituted one for one for oils, marg. butter or crisco. The benefits of coconut oil are endless but if you are like me, you don't accept one person's opinion. Check it out on websites that aren't selling it. I don't taste the coconut oil, even if I use it for frying, which is seldom. I think you might want to find out if you have candida overgrowth first. Probiotics may be enough. I have been using virgin coconut oil so long, I can't imagine going back to those nasty oils. Good luck!

I just recently had my brother in law tell me that he knows someone with Crohns who eats Coconut Maroon cookies and it stopped the D and seem to really help that person.....

So I researched it and found some info online saying it helped alot of people.

So I tried 2 a dayfor a few weeks. At first it seems to slow the D down and then the stomach pain started and I had awful pain and Extreme D with lots of Blood for several Days..........I'm not going to eat any more Coconut any time soon.

Just be careful eating Coconut...I'm not sure on the oil....It's just Coconut is one of the hardest things to digest.
My Goal is Not to let having Crohn's Define who I am........

Diag with Crohn's in 2006 after a complete obstruction. A foot removed from large intestion. Treated for Back Problems for 5 years before finding out all the back pain was from Crohn's...

Taking Pentasa and Imodium and a Flax/Fish Oil
No Insurance - Or I would be on other drugs...Just can't afford them.
