I have a question for women about fissures. I have a bout a 1.2 inch split in the skin a little below the vagina. I am also estrogen deficient. Could it just be estrogen deficiency? Maybe I will call my pcp about it. If they biopsied it, would it show crohn's disease?? I got these a year ago. I don't want to seem like a hypochondriac and call the GI doc for something that may not be related to my GI problems. My colitis has not been confirmed biopsy, I just have the positive blood test. Any advice???? Thanks a bunch!!!! I've been tired with joint pain lately too.

Hello Jeanneac,

I would certainly see your doctor. You need to find out what that is about and get some treatment. Do you have any drainage from it?
Diagnosed with Crohn's in early 2007.  Several peri-rectal abscesses and two fistulae with setons.  Allergic to Remicade and Humira.  Currently on 6MP, and vitamins D and B-12.

It is fairly small, I don't think anything is draining from it. I will call my PCP tomorrow. The last time I had this, the nurse thought it was yeast. The anti fungal didn't work....
