Hello.
Since I posted about this earlier I thought I'd give an update.. Not that anyone would be wondering, but felt like it was a "case" left open, haha.

I was concerned that I had lost my health benefits.  It turned out to be an error that I am glad we caught.  (thank goodness for the flare symptoms that led me to the MD office/labwork).  They were taking out premiums but had cancelled our policy.  It is corrected and we will be covered until the end of April and then can apply for COBRA.  So all is well, although I know that will be very expensive.  But I need it....
Diagnosed with CD 2006.  Refused to take meds until recently started Colazal.
Currently on Prednisone 40mg. Tapering down, now on 20mg.
Colazal 3xday, Antioxidant strips
 Off of the Prednisone!!

I was involuntarily terminated,(thank god) from my job that I did for the medical coverage, but under ARRA, not to the liking of my former employer, I was terminated on Feb. 18th this year, so under ARRA, thankyou Obama, we recieve cobra with 65% reduced price, you had to be terminated from Jan1 09-thru feb 28th 2010 to recieve the reduced price so check into that, I had to research it out on my own, my former employer told me I was not eligable, I called cobra, and sure enough, we pay $ 343 per month for full med and dental for 18 months, I hope to god I brake a few teeth or filing comes out anything to have former employer bite the bullit, I'm getting endescopy this month and remicade infusions, so bring on the bills.

Hey artist guy, how are you doing?
I will check into that, my husband mentioned that he had heard something about that. It would certainly help. 300 would certainly be better than $1000!! This former employer sure has caused me alot of undue stress over this. I don't understand how this even happened. Tomorrow I will be making phone calls to MD, laboratory, cardiologist (hubby's test) and pharmacy....all who show we don't have benefits and request them to resubmit...I hate this kind of stuff. Do you suppose it was just one person's error at keying in data? Why does it feel intentional.....I'm sure it's not....just sayin...

yea when I was terminated, HR told me i wasn't eligable for ARRA until i started researching on my own. my former employer didn't want to pick up the tab. I looked at your bio, your a RN. i have sleep and anxiety issue's as well as cd, which do you, beingan RNwould be better, I take restoril 30mg x2 per night i also take serax 15mg x2 as needed per day or night. the trouble they aren't that effective anymore, I see a sleep spec/shrink, new one on april 15th, which would be worse or better, stronger med's or less sleep and anxiety? I would like to try xanex for anxiety, any suggestions on sleep, I'm also on 40mg pred,(wire city) so that doesn't help all the issues that seem to go with cd. are you still working? I'm on SDI, and have applied for SSDI by my gi's request, I'm also 59, need some good advice from RN

DinkyDee, I'm glad you got this figured out. I WAS wondering how it worked out for you. I'm happy you will have some sort of coverage for awhile, it will give you some breathing room to figure things out.

Thank you Zanne!  Just another thing to worry about huh?
Artist guy...True, I am very careful about giving medical advice esp. with specific meds....even with family.  As a brain injury/stroke rehab nurse I have had patients that have suffered great side effects (strokes) from just over the counter meds.  After seeing that and learning that we have to be careful...I am the one you  emailed regarding dehydration.  Wondering how that is going for you..?  I know what you mean about the Prednisone, kept me wired!!  Also made me feel very anxious!  So keep that in mind.
