I have lurked on this site for a while and you guys dont know how much you have educated me.  I have a serious problem that I hope posters out there may have encountered .  I have had mild to moderate Crohns for 15 years and been througth all the drugs. Last year I decided to put my fears aside aftera hospital stay and at the urging of my doctor and try Remicade. I started in August 09 and weaned off predisone. Now for 2 months  Remicade infusions last only two weeks.  My Crohns flare ups have gone from moderate to severe. I suffer extreme weight loss in a short period of time.

Should I start prednisone again?  Even though I detest it. It is very effective  My doctor is away and I plan to talk to him when he returns about Humira. Thanks

discuss elemental diet with your GI doc if you really can't have prednisone. it's supposed to be as effective as prednisone but it probably takes longer to work.

I agree with Randy see about increasing your dose and the time between your infusions. For example if you get them every 6 weeks ask if you can get them every four. Good luck and I hope you start feeling better soon. Hugs!
