Just got back from a long couple weeks of many hospital visits and tests. My son developed some urinary problems which advanced to abdominal pains a couple weeks ago. To make a long story short it sounds like he may have  afistula but even after doing MRI, CT scan, and colonoscopy can't find it even  though all the symptoms point that way. Since my son was diagnosed as a child he has been seeing a pediatrican Crohn's doctor but now both parties agree that we should get a second opinion about his current diagnosis since they might have a different way to treat his fistula if he does indeed have one. The current doctor and a poster on here already recommended the University of Chicago group but they aren't in my insurance plan and since we live in northwest suburbs the hike would be long. Does anybody know of a good Crohn's doctor on the north side of Chicago and since he most likely will be attending University of Iowa in fall a doctor there also. Thanks in advance.

Hi concernedparent,

I see Dr. Michael Goldberg who works within North Shore University Health System:

I see him at his Evanston location, though he has one in Glenview as well. That link has a list of accepted insurances.

I hope this helps!

For the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics my GI doctor is Dr. Heather Kessler and I haven't had any problems with her yet so you might put her name on your list to look for.

Waiting on Diagnosis but the doctors seem to think its Crohn's they just wanna be 100% positive.
Also waiting for test results for Hypothyroidism
