My husband gave me his stomach flu over a week ago.  It started with a low grade fever, chills and diarrhea.  I am feeling better but still have diarrhea.  My question is… at what point do you contact your physician?  After I eat I need to use the restroom (diarrhea) and it burns when I go… almost like I have tears or fistulas?  It doesn’t bother me if I’m not in the bathroom.  Is it possible for a stomach bug to cause a flair-up?

My husband recently got the stomach flu and was sick for about a day and a half. He gave it to me and it took me almost a week to get over all the symptoms. So more than likely you are still having some after affects. If it continues or is bothersome, then I would contact your doctor. For us Crohnies we tend to get hit a little harder when we get the stomach flu. Good luck!

I just had stomach flu last week. It was awful. And yes, my crohn's flared worse! I actually had more LRQ pain from more inflammation and my diarrhea was every hour around the clock for the first 24 hours. I also had horrible nausea.
It took me about 5-6 days to get over the worse.
Chamomile tea with a little honey was helpful with nausea and upset tummy on day 2-3.
