I'm not much of a fluid drinker as it is, I don't know how I'm ever going to finish all this stuff.  (And it's not even that bad this time, instead of the gross soda stuff, I just had to take 4 laxatives and then mix a powder with 64 oz of Diet Snapple...just makes it kinda a slightly weird, thick consistency)

I've had the laxatives and some of the drink (still have a lot to go) but I'm not really going that much yet...what gives?  I feel like I remember the other stuff having a faster effect...I don't even really think there's much in me to go as I've been eating lightly the past few days.

I'm so hungry...grr  I really hope I can finish all this drink stuff or I suppose I'm going to be in trouble tomorrow!

Furthermore, I'm so freaking antsy from the Prednisone...the hyperness started to take in effect a few days ago.  Haven't really slept in 2 days because I'm so jittery (well plus, the pain still...)  I want to be up and about but my body is all weak from lack of eating...I don't know what to do with myself! I'm all jittery!  I wish I could go out but probably not the best idea, what with colonoscopy prepping and all.  Argh!!

I can't wait to eat tomorrow...Figures I'm one of the last ones to have the test tomorrow so it's not going to be til late afternoon til I can eat....  :(

Wahhhhh!

I'm usually more then halfway through drinking before anything starts to happen.  Even when I'm done drinking it I try to make myself drink a glass of water every hour or so to make sure I'm clear.

Not looking forward to my scope in May =/

I don't know what it is, but I seem to not be able to force myself to drink this stuff...and it truely isn't even that bad compared to other stuff I've had to drink in the past for this...And all it's making me do is have to pay a lot! I feel like I should force myself to work out just so maybe it will make me more thirsty, but I'm so tired from not sleeping the past 2 days...and ya know, the whole no eating thing, haha.

Oh man it's already almost 10 and theres still so much drink left.....:( :( :(

I have to say that I no longer have a big problem chugging that stuff. I mean, I hate it, but I alternate it a bit with some chicken broth and water and it all works out. As far as the timing goes... I have got in the habit of starting the process 2-3 hours earlier than what they say because I too have a big delay before it kicks in. But once it does, keep up with the drinking schedule and drink other clear fluids too. If you get nauseous, take a brake for half an hour or so and then resume. If semi-clear yellow fluid is coming out, there's not really any need to continue further or finish it all. However in that case I like to save a little bit of the foul fluid and resume three or four swigs later for good measure, as I love to see "preparation was excellent" on the scope report later. My most recent scope, my total times to the loo were only ten or so to full cleansing.

Yeah in retrospect I probably should have started earlier...as it was I was suppose to start at 2 and I didn't until 330 because I was out running errands... :/

It's looking yellowish...I don't know...I hope I'm good enough, there's still a lot left to drink but I'm starting to feel really nauseous and I really don't want to throw up again :( ....and I'm so darn tired I just want to go to sleep! But I'm nervous, I don't want to show up and ya know, still have "stuff" in me. What if they can't do it? Ugh I'm going to be so embarrassed! It's bad enough that I'm always horrible with peeing on command...

I really hope I drank enough.... :(

I simply don't eat for 18 hours or so beforehand, so I don't need to drink much of it. Don't eat after lunch the day before, wake up at 6 and start drinking some of it, clean by 8, appointment at 10. Works for me.

i prefer the pills rather than the very gross salty drink i had last time. it's hard to get all of that liquid down! good luck with the rest of the prep!

Luckily, I was eating lightly the last few days so there wasn't too much in me to get out. I honestly don't even think I made it through half the drink. But I was definitely cleaned out because I was going and there was nothing really coming out of me. I couldn't drink it anymore, it was so hard not to throw up. Definitely not drinking any Diet Lemon Snapple for awhile!!!!!

Ya know what is a double standard though? The whole peeing thing! I can't freaking pee on demand, plus the fact that since I've been dehydrated with the Crohns out of remission I'm not peeing all the much anyways PLUS the fact there was NOTHING in me to pee! But nooo, they have to make sure chicks aren't pregnant. I was so grumpy and sleep deprived I kept on saying "Ummm I'm not having sex right now, so there's no way I could be pregnant, plus they just did it in the ER last week and I wasn't pregenant...let me sign a waiver!" They had to hook me up to an IV and a barely got anything out, legitly A drop! It was so stressful. I wish they could just take blood for it. Guys are so lucky they don't have to deal with that!!!! Not fair not fair!

Oh my word!  I was soooo  grumpy about them asking for a pregnancy test too (had colonoscopy last week.)  I did the same thing and told them I'd sign a waiver or something.  I mean there was literally not a drop of fluid left in me at that  point.  And they should know as they make us pretty much super dehydrated for the test.  I told them my husband is "fixed" and I had an endometrial ablation and there was 0 chance of pregnancy.  They still wanted the urine!!

I know right? So frustrating. And then it occured to me that wait a minute, the GUYS don't have to go through this! They weren't even sure if I gave enough because they kept on saying "All we need is 3 drops" and I really could only produce one haha. But luckily it was enough. I understand there are laws but I think there should really be a way to sign a waiver they will say that if we lied, we won't sue. When I had to pee in the ER last week, we were waiting for 3 hours, it was horrible. Luckily this time it was only an hour.

Good luck with the colonoscopy tomorrow; I've got one in 10 days' time. This may sound weird, but it can't come soon enough for me this time. I just really want to find out what's up and to begin a new course of treatment, as I'm sick to death of carrying on this way - so sick of it in fact, I'm wondering if I'm overreacting, but that's a separate issue. The prepping I have never minded all that much - there's a sense of ritual about it which I find strangely satisfying. The liquid is a bit hard to get down. And the diarrhoea isn't tremendous fun. But I do like getting everything out; it just feels so... cleansing.

The procedure itself is okay too. Never had any problems with it, and I like seeing my intestines in glorious technicolour on the TV screen :p

I hear ya! That's how I felt with this one, I didn't even care about the prep 'cause I just want to find out what's wrong. I can understand to if feeling cleansing like you said but I just can't stomach all the drink. Even now, I'm so turned off to drink ANYTHING....

I'm jealous, I never get to see mine on the tv screen, I just get print outs! There's still tons of inflammation. :( Still have to be on the pred. UGH!

Yeah. I have to say, the sheer amount of liquid you have to get down is a bit daunting. Last time I didn't even manage it all; about 3/4's I think. Luckily it was enough.

That's a bit unfortunate about not getting to see your insides. I've seen my mine during all three previous colonocopies... <_<. Mind, I never remember very much afterwards; I feel like I'm wide awake at the time, but I don't think I really can be since the time passes by so quickly.

Bad luck about the inflammation - and still having to take pred :(

My last colonoscopy i had a while back i got in trouble for apparently not being clean enough even though i followed the directions to the T, this time (March 12) i had a new GI and didnt want to give him any probs.
To make sure i was clear, the day before my colonoscopy (the clear liquid day) i drank about 240oz of water and gatorade between 7am and 11pm that day, boy did i feel like a big fish, LOL. But you should see my colonoscopy pics, you would never know they had ever had anything in them they were so clean, so it was worth it in the end.

I am having a scope on 13th so have to stop eating from midnight on the 12th. When i have a scope they usually give me a laxative drink x2 and it generally does the job. This time they gave me a phophate enema to self administer on the morning of the test. I have been at this for 28 yrs and never had to do that. I had a colectomy and j pouch done 15yrs ago when they thought i had UC so when i take this enema it is only going to clear out my pouch, i can do that myself. I am worried that they have got the prep wrong and it might affect having the test. I rang the unit last week to check it was right and they said yes, I think i am going to ring them again on 12th. They are doing scope because they have diagnosed CD. What does anyone think?

Just had my scope today too...Lordy does that stuff blow! I only got down little over half the prep of Moviprep...not as bad as some but I'd love to do the pills...I've tried about everything else.

The other thing about why the prep bites for me is that it gets my intestines going...and it just won't stop...it becomes the Energizer Colon...does the prep do that to anyone else?...It usually takes at least 2 days, if not more, to slow my guts down...URGH!!!
